A glass repair is priced in one of two ways. If the glass itself has broken, you pay by the square foot of new glass, from ₹520. If a fitting has failed, you pay one fixed price for that part, supplied and fitted, whatever the size of the door. A door closer is ₹3,900. A pair of hinges is ₹2,600. A handle is ₹1,100. And if nothing needs replacing at all, you pay for the visit, which is ₹2,300. This page lists every one of those prices so you can check ours, or anyone else's.

Two ways a repair is priced, and why

New glass is priced by area, because that is what changes between one job and the next. A small window pane and a full door leaf are the same work to fit, but very different amounts of glass. From ₹520 per sq ft, matched to the type and thickness you had.

A fitting is priced per part. A floor spring is the part under the door that pulls it shut. It costs the same whether the door is three feet wide or four. So do a pair of hinges, a handle, or a set of rollers. Pricing those by the square foot would be making a number up.

And a visit is priced as a visit. Many repairs turn out to be a setting job: a closer that needs adjusting, a door raised on its rollers, a handle tightened with new washers. Then there is no part to charge for, and you pay ₹2,300 for the travel and up to two hours of work.

Who this page is for

Anyone with a glass or aluminium door that has stopped working properly. A shop or restaurant door that slams. An office cabin door that has dropped and will not lock. A shower door with rusted hinges. A balcony slider that has to be lifted to move. A cracked panel in a partition.

Most of these calls come from people who were quoted a whole new door somewhere else. Nearly all of them needed one part. This page is written so you can see what that part costs before anyone visits.

What each repair costs

A door closer, which on a frameless door is the floor spring: ₹3,900 for a normal duty unit, ₹5,500 for a heavy duty one on a busy shop or restaurant door. An overhead closer on a framed aluminium door: ₹3,200.

Hinges: ₹2,600 for a pair of wall-to-glass hinges, ₹3,600 for a pair of glass-to-glass hinges. Aluminium door hinges: ₹1,600 a pair.

A handle: ₹1,100 for a standard H handle in chrome. Shower handles and knobs are usually a little less. Long shop-door pull bars and handles with a lock built in cost more. An aluminium door lock and handle set: ₹2,400.

Sliding door rollers: ₹1,800 a pair, for a glass or aluminium door or window.

A full door fitting set, when the glass is good but everything around it has worn: ₹7,500 for a hinged door, ₹10,000 for a shop door on a floor spring.

Broken glass: from ₹520 per sq ft, and we take the broken glass away.

Every one of these is supplied and fitted, and includes the visit. GST is extra. The full table is below.

When it is just the visit

About a third of repair calls need no part at all. The closer needs setting, not replacing. The sliding door has dropped on one roller and needs raising two turns. The handle has a squashed washer. The lock keeper has moved.

We do that work and charge ₹2,300 for the visit. It covers travel and up to two hours on site. We do not fit a part you do not need to make the bill bigger.

If you have several doors or windows with problems, tell us. Two or three usually fit inside the same visit, so each one costs only its parts.

How long a repair takes

Most fitting repairs finish on the first visit. A handle takes under an hour. Hinges or rollers take an hour or two. A door closer takes two to three hours, including setting the door afterwards.

The common chrome parts are on the van. Black and brushed finishes, and unusual sizes, are ordered and take a few working days. We tell you which case yours is when you send a photo.

New toughened glass takes three to five working days to make, because it is cut and drilled before it is toughened and cannot be touched afterwards. On the first visit we make the opening safe and cover it, so you are not left with a gap for those days.

What the parts are

Floor springs, hinges, handles, locks and rollers from standard ranges sold across India. That matters, because it means the part that fits your door today will still be available when it needs changing in ten years.

We pick the rating to suit the door, not the price. A shop door gets a heavy duty closer. A heavy glass slider gets heavy rollers. Fitting a light part to a hard-working door is why some repairs come back every year.

Shower handles and hinges are stainless steel or brass, not plated, so they do not rust in steam. New rubber gaskets and washers go between every fitting and the glass. We never reuse the old ones, because that is what cracks a door at the hole.

Every part carries the maker's warranty, and we give a warranty on our own fitting work.

Why come to us for a repair

Because we will tell you when it is a setting job and not a part, and when it is a part and not a new door. Most glass door problems are smaller than they look, and we would rather do the small job well than the big job once.

We repair doors we did not fit. That is most of our repair work. Send a photo of the fitting with a tape measure across it, and we bring the matching part.

And where the honest answer is that the door or the frame is worn out, we say so. A repair on a rotten frame does not hold, and we do not take that money twice.

What happens after you get in touch

Send a photo of the fitting, and for a door, a short video of it moving. That tells us the type of part and usually the fault. We can often give you the exact price from it, before anyone travels.

We call back the same day. If a visit is worth your time, we fix one. If it is not, we say so.

On the visit we check the whole door, not only the part you pointed at, and we tell you what we find before we fit anything. You pay when the door works.

Parts, supplied and fitted

Each price covers the part and the work to fit it. GST is extra. The glass is not included. If we come only to fit one small item, we charge for the visit. If we fit it as part of a bigger job, we do not charge extra.

What changes the price

  1. Type of glass

Plain clear toughened glass (safety glass) is the base price. Frosted, tinted and extra-clear glass cost more. A frosted band or an etched logo is priced by the size of the area we treat.

  2. Thickness

10mm suits most partitions and showers. We use 12mm for full-height cabins, shop fronts, and panels much over 8 feet tall. Going from 10mm to 12mm adds about ₹55 per sq ft.

  3. How much glass

You pay for the glass, not for the floor. A 10 x 8 ft cabin with three glass sides needs about 216 sq ft of glass, not 80. Size also helps you. That same cabin costs about ₹620 per sq ft. A small 5 x 7 ft partition with the same door parts costs ₹850.

  4. Fittings

On a small job, the fittings change the price more than anything else. A full door set costs about ₹7,500. This cost is the same for a 35 sq ft partition or a 300 sq ft one. On a small job, very little glass has to carry that cost.

  5. Doors

A fixed panel with no door is the simplest thing we make, at about ₹620 per sq ft. Add a hinged door and the rate goes to ₹850. A sliding door adds rollers and a track. A hidden track adds even more.

  6. Cutting and drilling

Every hole and cut-out is made before the glass is toughened. We charge for each one. A panel with a door, a lock and a handle needs much more work than a plain panel of the same size.

  7. Delivery

Toughened glass travels upright in a frame. It cannot be cut once it leaves the factory. Delivery costs about the same for a big load or a small one. So one big delivery is cheaper than three small ones.

  8. Fitting work

This is the time our team spends at your site. A straight partition against good walls usually takes one day. Some things add time: night work, scaffolding, or a second trip because the site was not ready.

  9. Site conditions

Some sites take longer to work in. Walls that are not straight. Floors that are not level. Tiles we have to drill. No service lift, short working hours, or an upper floor with only stairs. Each of these adds time on site.

Common questions

Is there a minimum charge for a repair?

The visit is the minimum, at ₹2,300. It covers travel and up to two hours of work, so any setting or adjustment is inside it. If we fit a part, the part is added on its own line at the price on this page. Sometimes we are already at your site for another job. Then a small repair at the same time is charged as the part only.

Why is a fitting priced per part and not per square foot?

Because the door size does not change what the part costs. A floor spring for a 3 ft door is the same unit as for a 4 ft door. A pair of hinges is a pair of hinges. Charging by the square foot for a part would be inventing a number. Glass is different, because more glass really is more material, so glass stays per sq ft.

Can several repairs be done in one visit for one visit charge?

Yes. Two or three doors or windows in the same place usually fit inside the two hours the visit covers. You pay one visit charge and then the parts for each door. Tell us how many when you enquire, so we bring enough parts and plan the time.

Why does each style have a different rate?

Because each one costs a different amount to build. A fixed panel has no door parts at all. A partition with a hinged door needs a full set of parts. A sliding door costs even more. And a large cabin shares one door set across much more glass. So its rate per sq ft is the lowest of all. We work out every rate on this site from the real cost. We do not pick the numbers.

Is the rate per sq ft of glass, or per sq ft of floor?

It is per sq ft of glass. This is the main reason a price can look higher than you thought. A 10 x 8 ft cabin sounds like 80 sq ft. But if three sides have glass 8 ft tall, you are buying about 216 sq ft of glass. Your written price shows the glass area. So you can check the sum yourself.

Do these prices include GST?

No. Every rate on this site is before GST. Your written price shows the amount and the GST on separate lines. So nothing surprises you at the end.

Why does a small job cost more per sq ft than a large one?

The door set, the delivery and one day of our team's time cost about the same on any job. On a 5 x 7 ft partition, only 35 sq ft of glass carries those costs. On a full-height cabin, about 216 sq ft carries them. That is why the same kind of build drops from ₹850 to about ₹620 per sq ft.

What is the cheapest way to get this look?

A fixed glass panel with no door, at about ₹620 per sq ft. Every moving part adds cost: hinges, a lock, a door closer, a sliding set and its track. If the room works with an open doorway instead of a closing door, that is where you save.

Do you charge for coming out to measure?

Asking us for a price costs nothing. The measuring visit is part of the job, not a separate bill. We always measure. This is because toughened glass is cut to size before it is toughened. It cannot be cut again later.

How much advance do you take?

Enough to cover the materials, once you have approved the written price. Glass cut to your sizes is no use on any other job. This is why an advance is normal in this trade. You pay the rest when the work is finished.

Can the price change after you measure?

The written price is firm for the work listed on it. It changes only if the work changes. For example, different glass, an extra panel, or a door where there was an open gap. If we find something at your site that we could not see earlier, we tell you before we go on.
