On Sarjapur Road most of our work happens before anyone has moved in. Villas and towers from Haralur out to Dommasandra are handed over as bare shells. The owner fits them out over a few weeks. That makes it the easiest site we ever work on, and the easiest one to get wrong. Glass is one of the last trades. So it depends on everything before it being finished.
Glass comes last, and that is not a delay
On a fit-out, glass waits for three things. The flooring down and level. The tiling finished. And the ceiling in. All three decide how the top and bottom of a panel are fixed.
We are happy to come early and tell you where we sit in your order of work, and what the other trades should leave for us. That visit costs nothing.
But the measurement we cut from has to wait until the site is done. If the floor or the tile face moves by even a centimetre afterwards, we have to make the glass again. That is days lost for no reason.
Do the whole home in one order
This is the biggest saving there is on this kind of job, and it is not a discount.
Three enclosures ordered together share one measuring visit, one delivery and one booking for our team. Ordered one at a time, they carry three of each. Those fixed costs are exactly what push a small job to the top of the price range.
So measure the whole place at once, make it together, and fit it in one visit. Two or three bathrooms take a day to a day and a half, instead of three separate days spread over months.
New walls make frameless the easy choice
In an older bathroom we often suggest a slim aluminium frame. The channel hides walls that have gone out of straight. In a home handed over in the last few years, that problem mostly does not come up.
So here frameless both looks better and is simpler. We choose the glass thickness to suit the size of the panels. Hinges are glass to glass or wall to glass, with a proper seal along the closing edge and bathroom-grade silicone around the joins.
Frosted glass is worth asking about if a bathroom window is overlooked. We price it by the area we treat.
