Old Faridabad is the town that was here before the sectors: the old kothis, the lanes behind the Mathura Road, and the market blocks around the Old Faridabad metro. It is a mix of household work and shopfronts, and the thing that makes it easy is the plot layout. A gate wide enough to reverse a vehicle into removes most of the access problems that define this trade elsewhere in NCR.
Kothis, and doing the house in one order
An independent house here typically has two or three bathrooms, usually a staircase, and often a terrace or verandah worth enclosing. Doing them as separate jobs is the most expensive route.
The measuring visit, the delivery and a day of the team's time are paid once no matter how much glass goes in. Three bathrooms and a railing in one order shares all of it; four separate visits pay it four times.
So we measure the whole house on one visit, including whatever you have not decided about yet. Being measured commits you to nothing. It simply lets you see the difference between doing it together and doing it a room at a time, which in a house of this size is substantial.
Older sector houses, and what has moved
Many of these houses date from the seventies and eighties and have been altered since. Walls are rarely plumb, floors often slope a little, and the room may not be quite the shape the drawing says.
So we measure the actual room and cut each panel for where it goes. Where the floor slopes, the glass line is set off the finished floor rather than off a level line on the wall - otherwise the top follows the ceiling and the bottom opens a gap.
In a bathroom this decides frameless against framed. Frameless glass is cut square and shows a leaning wall as a tapering gap along that edge. A slim frame absorbs it inside the channel and seals more reliably. We check with a level and tell you which one your bathroom actually wants rather than deciding in advance.
Market shopfronts
Around Sector 16A and the sector markets the work is shopfronts and entrance doors, and the rule there is that the shop cannot lose a day.
A broken front is the most urgent job we do. We clear the broken glass properly - toughened glass breaks into a great many small pieces and they travel further than people expect - and board the opening so the shop can secure itself tonight.
On the replacement the honest position matters. A stock thickness and size we hold can move quickly. A made-to-size toughened panel takes three to five working days to cut, drill and toughen, and paying more does not shorten it. Anyone promising a toughened shopfront the same afternoon is fitting plain glass, which does not belong in a public entrance.
