Electronic City has more rules around fit-out work than almost anywhere we go. Almost none of them are about glass. The glass part is simple. What decides whether your cabin is ready on time is the work permit, the worker ID passes, the insurance letter and the material gate pass. We start all of that on the day you approve the price. That is the only way it does not cost you a week.

The permit decides the date, not the glass

Before any material can move, most campuses here want four things. A work permit raised by you as the tenant. Our workers listed with photo ID. Proof of insurance. And a separate gate pass for the material itself.

That takes a few working days to put together. Your glass also takes a few working days to make. Run them at the same time and the paperwork costs you nothing. Leave it until the glass is ready and it holds the whole job up by about a week.

So we fill it in and you sign it. The campus only accepts it from the tenant.

What a cabin here looks like

Cabins and meeting rooms on floors where people are already working. The brief is nearly always the same: split an open floor into rooms without making it feel closed in, and without your team losing a working day.

So most partitions run full height to the ceiling grid, in toughened glass (safety glass), with a frosted band at eye level. That band is a simple safety measure on a busy floor. Most campuses need it anyway.

If you want your logo on the band, we etch it into the glass while it is being made. It looks better and lasts far longer than a film stuck on later.

Working through the night, and what it costs

Material comes up in the booked slot, usually overnight. We fit the panels, clean up, and hand the floor back before your team arrives. One cabin is normally a single night. Six to ten cabins take several nights, done in stages so finished rooms come into use while we build the rest.

Night working and booked lift slots add real hours to a job. We show that in the written price rather than adding it later.

The honest way to bring the cost down is to order more at once. One permit, one delivery and one non-stop booking for our team covers a whole floor. One cabin at a time over six months is the dearest way to buy exactly the same glass.

Repairs on a live floor

The most common call is not broken glass. It is a cabin door that slams, drifts open or will not latch. That door is opened hundreds of times a day, and the closing gear in the floor wears out. Changing it is usually a two to three hour visit.

Getting a repair team in still needs worker IDs, and often a lift slot. But campuses are usually easier about a short repair than a full night of fitting.

We treat broken glass as urgent. Where we can get in, we clear it and cover the opening the same day, so the floor stays safe and usable. The new panel takes a few working days to make.

What we do in Electronic City

Each one has its own page for this area, with the local details on it.

How a job runs

  1. Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
  2. We call you backUsually the same day. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call. Then you know if a visit is worth your time.
  3. We come and measureWe measure the opening. We also check the walls, floor, ceiling and the way in. Your glass is made to these final sizes, so they must be right.
  4. You get a written priceIt shows the glass, the fittings and the fitting work as separate lines. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
  5. We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.

Questions we get from Electronic City

Can you work in Electronic City during office hours?

Rarely, and it is the campus's call, not ours. Most here allow material to move only at night or over a weekend. Tell us when you first get in touch, so the price and the team booking allow for night working from the start.

Who applies for the work permit?

You do, because the campus only accepts it from the tenant. We prepare everything it needs: the scope of work, the worker list and IDs, the insurance letter, the material list and the hours we are asking for. In practice we fill it in and you sign it. Start it the day you confirm and it will not hold up the fitting.

Can you put a frosted band and our logo on the glass?

Yes. Etching it into the glass while it is being made is better value than sticking a film on later, and it lasts far longer. Send the logo as a vector file when you approve the price. Most campus floors need a frosted band at eye level on clear full-height glass anyway.
