Rain falls on Bengaluru in many months, from the April thunder showers to the November rain. An open balcony stays wet through that, and road dust settles on it between showers. Closing the open side with glass keeps out the rain, the dust and the pigeons.
We fit toughened glass, which is safety glass, in aluminium sliding frames. The glass usually runs from the top of your railing up to the ceiling. The panels slide to one side, so you can open the balcony on a mild day. We seal the frame with silicone at both walls, the slab and the ceiling.
