Why your neighbour has the same fault

Builder-fitted enclosures use whatever part was chosen for the whole project. And every one of them has been opened about the same number of times.

So the seals harden together, and the rollers wear flat together. If your shower door has started dragging, the same door in the next house is probably a month behind yours.

That is useful. Where several houses in a block need the same part, we can do them all in one trip. Ask your neighbours before you call. It usually means a faster date for everyone.

What we can and cannot match

Hinges, rollers, seals and handles are common types, and we normally match them exactly.

Where the original part is no longer made, we fit a current one rated for the same glass thickness and door weight. It will not always look the same. We tell you that before we fit it, not after.

What we do not do is patch a chipped panel. Damage to the edge of toughened glass (safety glass) takes away the strength that toughening gave it. So that panel gets replaced.

Our whole row has the same shower doors. Can you do several houses in one trip?

Yes, and it is the sensible way to handle it here. These enclosures were fitted at the same time with the same parts, so they tend to fail within months of each other. If your neighbours have the same fault, tell us when you call. One trip with the right parts loaded is faster for all of you than four separate visits.

Can you get the exact part the builder used?

Often, but not always. Hinges, rollers and seals are common types, and we usually match them exactly. Where the original is no longer made, we fit a current one rated for the same door weight and glass thickness. If it will look a little different, we tell you before fitting it, not once it is on.

Is the rate per square foot of glass or of floor?

Glass, always. It is the most common reason a price looks higher than people expect. A 10 x 8 ft cabin sounds like 80 sq ft. But if three sides are glass and each is eight feet tall, that is about 216 sq ft. Your written price shows the glass area so you can check the maths.

Is GST included in these prices?

No. Every rate on this site is before GST. Your written price shows the amount and the GST as two separate lines, so there is no surprise at the end.
