Repair work here is home work. A cracked stair railing panel. A window broken by a knock. A shower enclosure whose hinges have finally gone. What makes it different from the same job elsewhere is the access. Everything comes up the stairs by hand. So a new panel has to be planned around the staircase before it is cut.
Why the replacement panel gets measured twice
We measure the opening, and then we measure the way up to it.
A panel that fits your window perfectly well may not turn the half landing below it. Toughened glass cannot be cut down on site. If that is going to be a problem, we have to know before the order goes in.
Where the way up will not take one piece, we look at whether the opening can honestly be built as two. Sometimes it can and sometimes it cannot. We will tell you which, rather than promise and fail.
Railings, and the risk of leaving a crack
A chipped or cracked toughened panel is worth replacing, not watching. Toughened glass is safety glass. Damage to the edge takes away its strength, and it does not crack slowly first.
On a stair railing in a house with children, that is not a risk worth taking.
A new panel comes with us taking the old one away. Where we cannot fit the new one the same day, we make the opening safe on the first visit. We come back once the glass is made.
Uttarahalli terrace doors that leak in the rains, and mosquito net doors
A terrace door in an Uttarahalli house gets tested twice a year. The south-west monsoon runs from June to September, and more rain comes in October and November. Both spells drive rain at the same door, so a fault found in the first is fixed before the second.
On a sliding door, we start at the bottom track. It has small drain holes that let rain out. Dust from the dry months blocks them, so the track fills and spills into the room. We clear them, then check the rollers, the two wheels each door leaf runs on. On a hinged uPVC door, we check that it still meets its seal all the way round.
The same door is where mosquitoes come in on a wet evening. A mosquito net door, a mesh leaf sliding beside the glass, lets you leave it open. A pleated net suits a wide opening, because it gathers up at one side.

- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
