KR Puram is mostly independent houses. So our repair work here is home work, not shop work. It is a cracked stair railing panel. Or a window broken by a knock. Or a shower enclosure whose hinges have finally rusted through. We measure, make and fit all of it the same way. The old glass leaves with us.
Railings, and why a crack is urgent
A chipped or cracked toughened panel is worth replacing, not watching. Toughened glass is safety glass. Damage to the edge takes away its strength. And it does not crack slowly. When it breaks, it breaks fully.
On a stair railing in a house with children, that is not a risk worth taking.
Where we cannot fit the new panel the same day, we make the opening safe on the first visit. We come back with the glass once it is made. Toughened glass cut to size takes a few working days. It is cut and drilled first, then toughened.
Getting a replacement to match
We match the type, the thickness and any treatment like frosting. Frosting is the cloudy finish that stops you seeing through. A repaired part should not stand out next to the panels around it.
Where the old glass is old, the new panel may have a very slight difference in colour from the ones next to it. We tell you if we expect that, rather than let you find it after fitting.
A photo helps more than words here. It tells us the size, the type of glass and how it is fixed. All three decide what we bring on the first visit.

- We come and measureWe measure the opening. We also check the walls, floor, ceiling and the way in. Your glass is made to these final sizes, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt shows the glass, the fittings and the fitting work as separate lines. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.
