What is it doing?

Pick the line that sounds like yours. We will tell you what it usually is, and what it usually costs.

The parts we carry and change

Each one is a fixed price, supplied and fitted. Prices are before GST. The part you need may be a different size or duty, so we confirm it on the call.

Not sure which part yours needs? Send a photo, or a ten-second video of it moving. We will tell you what it usually is and what it usually costs, before anybody comes out.

How a repair works

Four steps, and most of them happen before anybody travels.

  1. Send a photo or a short videoOn WhatsApp, or through the form. A ten-second video of it moving tells us more than a paragraph.
  2. We call you back with a rough priceUsually within the hour, in working hours. You know the likely cost before anybody comes out.
  3. We come, and most days we fix it the same visitUsually at your door within 29 minutes in our service areas, traffic permitting. We carry the common hinges, handles, locks, closers, rollers and channels.
  4. You pay after it worksWe open it, close it and slide it in front of you first. The bill is itemised, with GST as its own line.

Something in your home, office or shop has stopped working. A door that will not lock. A wardrobe shutter off its channel. A mirror coming away from the wall. A railing that shakes. A rolling shutter that will not lift. Most of the time the thing itself is fine. One small part has worn out, or one fixing has failed. We come out, find which, and change it.

Why things stop closing, sliding and locking

Anything that moves hangs on two or three small parts. Those parts carry its whole weight, every day, for years. When one of them wears, the door or the shutter drops by a few millimetres. That is enough to make it rub, miss the lock, or stop shutting flush.

On a glass door it is usually the floor spring or the patch fittings. On an aluminium or uPVC door it is usually the hinges or the lock keeper. On a wooden door or a wardrobe it is usually the hinge screws, which have pulled loose. On anything that slides it is nearly always the rollers.

None of these needs a new door, a new window or a new wardrobe. All of them are a part and an hour of work. We tell you which one it is before we start, and what that part costs.

Sliding doors, windows, wardrobes and drawers

A sliding shutter that has to be lifted or shoved is running on worn rollers. The rollers sit under the panel and take its full weight. When the bearings go, the panel drops onto the track and drags. A drawer that sticks is the same fault on a smaller channel.

We change the rollers for a pair rated for the weight of the panel. We also dress the track, which means filing the worn groove smooth again. Skipping that part is why new rollers sometimes fail within months. Then we reset the guides and the stoppers so the panel cannot jump out.

This is the same job on an aluminium window, a uPVC door, a glass slider, a wardrobe shutter and a kitchen drawer. Several of them in one flat or one office share a single visit, so each one costs less.

Broken glass, cracked table tops and loose mirrors

Call us first if glass has cracked or shattered. On the first visit we take out whatever is left, clear the pieces away, and cover the opening so the place is safe to use.

New glass is made to your sizes, so we measure properly. Toughened glass usually takes 3 to 5 working days to make. We match the type and the thickness you had before, unless there is a good reason to change it, and we tell you if there is. A table top, a shelf, a partition panel, a railing panel, a shop front and a window pane are all the same job. So is a mirror, which we cut to size and fix with the right adhesive and clips.

Glass is priced by the square foot, fitted. A cracked pane in an aluminium, wooden or uPVC frame is the same job again: the frame stays, the glass and the gasket are new.

Railings, grills, gates and rolling shutters

A railing or a grill that shakes has lost a fixing, not its strength. The anchor bolt has worked loose in the wall, or a bracket has cracked. We re-fix it with proper anchors, change the bracket, and check every other fixing along the run while we are there.

A gate that drags or will not latch is the same fault as a door: worn hinges, or a keeper out of line. We change the hinges or re-set the gate on them. A collapsible gate that judders is running on worn wheels, and we change those too.

A rolling shutter that is stuck, heavy or loud is usually the spring or the bearings. We change them, grease the guides and reset the stoppers. On any of these, if the job needs welding or a new section of metal, we tell you on the call. That is not work we do.

Wardrobes, kitchens and cabinets

A kitchen shutter hangs on two hinges and a wardrobe shutter on three. When one wears, the shutter drops and its edge hits the next one. We change the hinges and re-set the shutter, and we fit soft-close hinges if you want the slamming to stop.

A drawer that sticks, tips or has come out is running on a worn channel. We change the pair of channels for ones rated for the weight of the drawer. A storage bed whose lid will not stay up has a gas lift that has lost its pressure, and we change that for one rated for the weight of the lid.

Locks, handles, knobs and magnets on any cupboard, almirah or locker are changed on the same visit.

Wood, uPVC and steel: what we do, and what we do not

Fabrockers is a glass and aluminium company. On anything wooden, uPVC or steel we do the part that is mechanical: hinges, handles, locks, closers, channels, rollers, gas lifts, re-fixing and alignment. That covers most of what goes wrong with these things.

We do not do carpentry, new wooden shutters, polishing, welding, fabrication or painting. If your job needs one of those, say so on the call and we will tell you straight away. It costs you nothing to ask, and a wasted visit helps neither of us.

What we can nearly always do is make the thing close, lock, slide and sit properly again.

What a repair costs

Two things make up the bill. There is the part, and there is the visit.

Every part we fit is one fixed price, supplied and fitted. A door closer costs the same on a small door as on a big one, so it is priced per door and not by size. The same is true of hinges, handles, rollers and channels. Those prices are listed above and they are the prices we charge.

The visit covers travel and up to two hours of work. If the job needs no new part, the visit is the whole bill. If it needs several parts, or several things in the same building, one visit covers them all. Glass and mirrors are the one thing priced by area, because a bigger pane genuinely costs more to make.

How fast we can come

We work across Bengaluru, Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 8pm. In our service areas we can usually reach you within 29 minutes. That depends on traffic and on which team is free.

Most repairs are finished on that same visit, because the team carries the common hinges, handles, locks, closers, rollers and channels. A part we do not carry is usually a day or two. Glass and mirrors cut to size are 3 to 5 working days.

If the thing has to stay usable in the meantime, tell us. We will make it safe on the first visit and come back to finish.

Common questions

What exactly do you repair?

Anything built from glass, aluminium, wood, uPVC, PVC, steel or iron. That means doors, windows, sliding doors and windows, shower cubicles, glass partitions, glass railings, mirrors, glass table tops and shelves, shop fronts, mosquito mesh, window grills, balcony railings, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, drawers, storage beds, loft shutters, safety doors, gates, collapsible gates, rolling shutters, steel almirahs and racks. The full list is on this page. If your thing is not on it, tell us and we will say honestly whether it is a job for us.

How fast can you come?

Fast. In our Bengaluru service areas we can usually be at your door within 29 minutes, during working hours. That depends on traffic and on which team is free. Send a photo or a short video first. It lets us bring the right part instead of coming twice. Most repairs are then finished on that same visit.

My glass door does not close fully. What is wrong?

Nearly always the floor spring or the patch fittings, not the glass. A floor spring is the closer set into the floor under the door. It holds oil, and when the oil goes the door stops pulling itself shut. Patch fittings are the metal clamps at the top and bottom of the glass, and they loosen over time. We check both, and change whichever has gone. The glass itself is not touched. The door lifts off and goes back on.

Can you replace a mirror or a glass table top?

Yes. We measure the old one, or the space it sits in, and cut new glass or a new mirror to that size. A mirror is fixed with the right adhesive and clips so it cannot come away from the wall. A table top is cut with polished edges and the corners rounded, and it is toughened if the size or the use calls for it. Both usually take 3 to 5 working days to make.

My wardrobe sliding shutter has come off. Can that be fixed?

Yes. The shutter has usually jumped its channel because the rollers under it have worn, or the guide at the top has come loose. We lift it back on, change the rollers for a pair rated for its weight, dress the worn channel smooth, and reset the guides so it cannot jump out again. It takes about an hour a shutter.

Do you repair aluminium doors and windows, or only glass?

Both. Aluminium is half of what we do. We change sliding rollers, tracks, hinges, handles, locks, door closers and mosquito mesh. We re-square doors and windows that have dropped, so they shut and lock properly again. We renew the rubber gaskets when the glass rattles. We also repair or replace a bent or loose frame section.

Can you repair a wooden door, a wardrobe or a kitchen cabinet?

Yes, for the hardware and the movement. That means hinges, soft-close hinges, handles, knobs, locks, door closers, drawer channels, gas lifts on storage beds, and getting the shutter to hang straight again. We do not do carpentry, new wooden shutters or polishing. Tell us what is wrong on the call and we will say honestly whether it is a job for us.

My balcony railing shakes. Is that a job for you?

Usually, yes. A railing that shakes has lost a fixing, not its strength: an anchor bolt has worked loose in the wall, or a bracket has cracked. We re-fix it with proper anchors, change the bracket, and check every other fixing along the run. If a section of metal is cracked and needs welding, we tell you on the call. That is not work we do.

Do you fix rolling shutters and collapsible gates?

Yes. A rolling shutter that is stuck, heavy or loud is usually the spring or the bearings, and we change them, grease the guides and reset the stoppers. A collapsible gate that judders is running on worn wheels, and we change those. Locks and handles on both are changed on the same visit. New sections of shutter or welding are not work we do.

How much does a repair cost in Bangalore?

Every part is one fixed price, supplied and fitted, and those prices are listed on this page. A repair visit covers travel and up to two hours of work. If no new part is needed, the visit is the whole bill. New glass and mirrors are priced by the square foot because a bigger pane really does cost more to make. You get the price before we start, and GST is shown as its own line.

Will you fix it on the first visit?

Usually, yes. The team carries the common hinges, handles, locks, door closers, rollers and channels. If your thing needs a part we do not have with us, it is normally a day or two. Glass and mirrors cut to your size take 3 to 5 working days to make. In that case we make it safe on the first visit and come back to finish.

Do you come to my area?

We cover Bengaluru, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm. That includes Whitefield, Koramangala, Indiranagar, HSR Layout, Electronic City, Marathahalli, Jayanagar, Hebbal, Yelahanka and the areas around them. Tell us where you are and we will confirm before anybody travels.

Is there a warranty on the repair?

Yes. We give a one-year warranty on our own fitting work. New fittings carry the maker's own warranty on top of that. If something we fitted stops working within that year, call us and we will come back.
