Most work here is small: a roller, a mesh, a handle, a cracked pane, a mirror. Those are the jobs where people most often feel uncertain about what they will be charged, and reasonably so. So we price them the same way every time, before anything is taken apart.
A price before anything is opened up
The genuine difficulty with a small repair is that the cause is not always visible until something is apart.
So we give a price for the likely fix before starting. If it turns out to be something else, we stop and tell you, with the window still usable.
What we will not do is dismantle a window and then present a larger bill on the grounds that it is already in pieces. If the diagnosis changes, the decision comes back to you first.
What we can finish on the first visit
Rollers, handles, catches, stays, hinges, common gaskets, mesh and standard fixings we carry, so those are usually done there and then.
Glass is the exception, because every pane is cut to its own opening — that needs measuring first and fitting a few days later.
Where a pane is broken we make the opening safe on the first visit rather than leaving it open. Knowing which category your job falls into sets the expectation properly when you call.
Several jobs on one visit
On a repair of this size, getting a person and a van to your door is most of the cost.
So two visits for a handle and a mesh cost close to twice what doing both at once does.
It is worth walking round the flat before calling. Most people find three or four things once they look — a stiff window, a torn mesh, a loose handle, a mirror that has begun to spot — and told in advance we bring the parts for all of them.

- We come and measureWe measure the opening and check the walls, floor and ceiling around it. Anything made to size is made to these measurements, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
