Rain is the first real test of a new building, and it finds the same things every year: unsealed gaps where a frame meets the wall, drainage slots blocked with construction dust, and sealant applied to a dusty surface that never bonded.\n\nAll three are cheap to put right and all three cause a leak that looks alarming.\n\nSo if a new window leaks in its first rains, it is usually a finishing defect rather than a faulty window. We check those three before suggesting anything is replaced, and it is nearly always one of them.
What the first winter finds
Cold weather shows up gaps rather than leaks. A door that was fitted in summer can bind or gap as the frame moves, and condensation appears on any single-glazed pane.\n\nCondensation on the inside of a window is not a fault — it is warm damp air meeting cold glass, and it means the room needs ventilation more than the window needs replacing.\n\nWhat is worth fixing is a door that no longer closes properly, since that gap is both draught and security. That is usually an adjustment rather than a replacement.
Getting materials to a site this far out

- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
