In a guest house every fitting is used by somebody who did not choose it, does not know it and will not be gentle with it. That wears things out in a very particular pattern, and it changes what is worth fitting. Durability and speed of repair matter far more here than finish.
What guest use actually breaks
The pattern is consistent: shower door seals, bathroom door locks, mirror fixings and window catches.\n\nAll four fail because they are operated by somebody who does not know how they work and applies more force than needed.\n\nSo the right specification here is not the best-looking. It is the one with the fewest moving parts and the simplest action - a door that only opens one way, a catch that cannot be forced the wrong way, a mirror fixed mechanically rather than glued.
Keeping a room out of use for hours, not days
A room out of service is the real cost of any repair in a hotel, and it is usually larger than the repair itself.\n\nSo the parts that commonly fail are worth keeping as stock on site. A spare shower seal, a spare catch and a spare lock in a cupboard turn a two-day wait into a one-hour fix.\n\nWe are happy to supply those as spares when we fit, and to show your maintenance person how to change them. It is less work for us later and it keeps the rooms let, which matters more.
Mirrors and glass fixed so they cannot be pulled off
A mirror stuck to a wall with adhesive will eventually come away, and in a guest bathroom that is a safety problem rather than an inconvenience.\n\nSteam softens most adhesives over time, and nobody notices until it moves.\n\nSo we fix bathroom mirrors mechanically, with clips or a channel, and use adhesive only as a secondary hold. It costs a little more and it is the difference between a mirror that stays on the wall for years and one that comes down on a basin.
How the job works
- Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.

- We come and measureWe measure the opening and check the walls, floor and ceiling around it. Anything made to size is made to these measurements, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
