An L-shape enclosure is what you need when the shower sits in a corner instead of along a full wall. Two panels of toughened glass meet at the corner and close the shower on its two open sides, with a hinged door in one of them. Toughened glass is safety glass. There is no post at the corner, so the enclosure still looks light even though it wraps around two sides.

Which bathrooms need the L-shape

Any bathroom where the shower sits in a corner and two of its sides are open to the room. This is common in larger bathrooms, and in flats where the shower is a marked-off zone rather than a full wet wall.

It is also the right shape where a straight partition would cut the room in an awkward way. Wrapping the shower, instead of dividing the room, usually leaves a more usable bathroom.

The catch is cost. An L-shape has more glass edge for the same floor area than a straight run. It also has a corner joint and a return panel. So it sits at the upper end of the range.

How two panels make a solid corner

The two panels meet right at the corner and are joined with a clear silicone line. There is no aluminium post between them. That is what keeps the corner looking clean.

Both panels are toughened glass, normally the same thickness across the enclosure, chosen to suit their height and width.

The corner needs the most care at fitting. Very few bathroom corners are truly square, so we check the angle at the measuring visit instead of assuming ninety degrees. Where a corner is clearly out, we adjust the panel sizes to suit it.

We seal along both wall joints, the full floor line and the corner itself, in an anti-fungal bathroom-grade silicone.

The job, with one person responsible

Send photos of both open sides and the rough sizes. We usually come back the same day with a range.

We measure after your tiling is finished. At that visit we check both corners, the slope of the floor towards the drain, and which side the door should open from.

You get a written price with the glass, the fittings and the fitting work on their own lines. Once you agree, an advance covers the materials and the glass takes a few working days.

Fitting an L-shape usually takes a day. One site manager runs your job from the measuring visit to handover. So you have one person to call, not a general line.

Why two quotes for the same enclosure can differ

Usually because they are not really the same enclosure.

The most common differences are glass thickness, whether the hinges are sized for the weight of the door, and whether the closing edge gets a proper seal or a plain plastic strip. You cannot see any of the three in a photo, and all three change the price.

The corner joint is another. A well-made glass-to-glass corner takes longer than dropping an aluminium post between the panels, and it looks much better.

We list the specification line by line. Then you can compare a cheaper quote with ours on equal terms, not on the total alone.

What customers say

4.7from 6 reviews of this work

  • Zoya AnsariKoramangala, Bengaluru★★★★★

The corner joint is very well done. No post, just glass meeting glass, just as they showed me in the photos before.

  • Pranav ChandranJP Nagar, Bengaluru★★★★

Very good work. Our corner was not square, so they adjusted the panels for it. That added a couple of days to the glass, but it was clearly the right call.

  • Bhavleen GillJayanagar, Bengaluru★★★★★

They said to put the door on the short side, which I would not have thought of. It gives a much better entry. I am glad I listened.

  • Nikhilesh DuttaFrazer Town, Bengaluru★★★★★

One year old and not a single leak or mark. Worth paying a bit more than the cheapest quote we had.

  • Ambika RaoBanashankari, Bengaluru★★★★★

Clean, careful work in a finished bathroom. They covered everything before drilling and cleaned up well afterwards.

  • Joseph KurianRajajinagar, Bengaluru★★★★

Good enclosure and a fair price. Replies in the first week could have been quicker, but the work itself was excellent.

Common questions

Roughly what should I budget for an L-shape enclosure in Bengaluru?

It starts at ₹850 per sq ft of glass. L-shapes usually sit at the upper end of the range, because a corner adds a return panel and more glass edge for the same floor area. Work out your glass area by measuring each open side and multiplying by the height. Send us those numbers, and we will give you a range before anyone visits.

From first call to a finished corner, how long does it take?

About ten days from agreeing the price to handover. The measuring visit happens once your tiling is finished. The glass takes a few working days to cut, drill and toughen. Fitting is normally a day. Then allow about a day for the silicone to set before using the shower.

My bathroom corner is clearly not square. Will glass work there?

Yes, as long as we know before the glass is made. We check the corner angle with a proper square at the measuring visit, and we make the panels to suit what is really there. Toughened glass cannot be cut again afterwards, so this has to be settled early, not on fitting day.

Should the door go on the long side or the short side of the L?

Usually the side that gives the widest easy entry and a clear swing into the dry part of the bathroom. That is often the longer side, but not always. Where the basin and WC sit usually decides it. We work it out with you at the measuring visit.

Does drilling for the hinges crack bathroom tiles?

Not when it is done properly. We drill tiles with the correct bit at low speed, and we set out the fixing points to avoid tile edges wherever possible. Our team does this every day. If a tile is already loose or hollow behind, we point that out before drilling, not after.
