These were among the first towers in Neharpar, so the enclosures that came with the flats are now at the age where they are being replaced. That is a very different job from a first fitting: the flat is lived in, the bathroom is finished, and everything has to come in and out through a lift and a corridor.
Getting glass in and rubbish out of a tower
A glass panel has to fit in the lift, and service lifts vary more than people expect between buildings.\n\nSo we measure the lift, not just the bathroom, and check whether the panel can stand at the angle the lift requires.\n\nThe old enclosure also has to leave. Broken toughened glass is a large volume of sharp granules, and it needs proper containment rather than a bag in the corridor. We bring bins for it and take it out the same day.
Working in a flat somebody is living in
In an occupied flat the bathroom is out of use while we work, and in most of these flats that is the only bathroom in daily use.\n\nSo the timing matters more than the price. We plan a removal-and-fit as a single day where the glass is ready, rather than taking the old one out and coming back.\n\nWhere the new enclosure has to be made to size, the old one stays in until the new glass is in the building. It is slightly more work for us and it means you are not without a shower for a week.
Society rules about noise and lifts
Most buildings here set hours for drilling, and many require the service lift to be booked and padded for a materials move.\n\nThat is worth knowing before the day rather than at the gate.\n\nSo we ask you to check with your society when the survey is booked, and we plan around whatever the rules are. It is a five-minute question that avoids arriving with glass on a morning when drilling is not allowed.
How the job works
- Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
- We call you back in about 2 minutesWe confirm what you need and a time to visit. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening and check the walls, floor and ceiling around it. Anything made to size is made to these measurements, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
