The residential side of Sohna Road spans about fifteen years of construction, and that range matters. A tower from 2010 and a tower from 2022 are different jobs: different wall accuracy, different lift sizes, different society processes. So there is less we can assume here than in a uniformly new belt, and more that we check.
Why we measure more carefully on this road
In a uniformly new belt we can predict what we will find. Here we cannot, because the towers were built across a wide span of years.
An older tower on this road will usually have walls that have moved a few millimetres and a lift that will not take a full-height panel. A recent one will usually have neither problem.
Both are ordinary. What matters is not guessing. So we put a level on all three walls and we measure the lift car, the lift door and the lobby turn before designing anything - and the answer genuinely differs from address to address here in a way it does not in Noida Extension or on Dwarka Expressway.
What to do when the wall is out
Where a wall leans, frameless glass shows it as a tapering gap along that edge, and that is not a workmanship problem that can be fixed with more sealant.
There are two honest answers. A slim aluminium frame takes the difference up inside its channel, seals properly and, in a compact bathroom, usually looks better anyway. Or the wall is corrected first, which is a tiling job rather than a glass job and is worth doing only if the bathroom is being redone regardless.
We will tell you the measurement and let you choose. What we will not do is fit frameless glass against a wall we have measured as out and let you find the gap on the day.
Water, falls and where the glass line goes
The most common complaint about a shower enclosure is water escaping, and it is usually not the enclosure's fault.
If the floor does not fall towards the drain from where the glass stands, water arrives on the wrong side of the seal and runs out under the door. The seal is not failing. The water simply never reached it.
So we check the fall with a level while measuring. Where it is wrong, moving the glass line by a few inches often solves it entirely. Where it cannot be solved that way, the floor needs attention and we would rather say so before you order glass than afterwards.
