Kalkaji sits right next to Nehru Place, and that gives it two sides. There are the DDA flats and Kalkaji Extension, which are homes. Small offices that spilled over from Nehru Place
Nehru Place is full, so many small firms have taken space in the buildings around Kalkaji instead. These are usually one or two rooms that need dividing into a cabin and a work area.
The lifts are small, so we measure the lift before we design. Where a panel is too tall, we split it with a slim joint.
Most of these offices are rented. If yours is, a framed system that unbolts at the end of the lease is usually the sensible choice.
The DDA flats and the temple crowd
The DDA flats are ground plus three with no lift, so glass goes up the stair by hand. We measure the stair turn when we measure the bathroom.
Kalkaji Mandir brings heavy crowds on festival days and Navratri especially. Roads near the temple can be very hard to reach then.
So we avoid the big festival days for deliveries near the temple, and we will tell you if your date clashes with one.
Bathrooms that have had forty years of use
Most DDA bathrooms here are original or nearly so. Replacing them properly is real work.
The old screen or curtain rod comes out, the old sealant is scraped away, and we check the wall behind for damp. After forty years, walls usually lean a few millimetres.
A slim aluminium frame hides that lean inside its channel and seals well. We check with a level and tell you honestly which suits your bathroom.
