The faults we see every week
A door that slams shut. The closer has lost its control, usually because it has started to leak, so the door no longer slows as it reaches the frame.
A door that drags on the floor. It has dropped, either at the closer or at the bottom clamp.
A door that will not latch. This is normally alignment. The lock no longer meets its catch, or fixings have come loose and let the panel shift.
A sliding door that judders or comes off its track. This is usually a worn roller or a missing guide, not damage to the track.
And a door that swings open on its own. That is nearly always a closer that was never set right, not one that has failed.
Parts, adjustment, and when we say replace
Many of these are setting jobs, not replacements. A closer that was never set right can often be fixed in a single visit. We will do that and charge for the visit, instead of selling you a part you do not need.
Where something has truly worn out, we replace it with a part suited to the weight of the door and how often it is used. We do not just refit the same item that failed. A door closer that keeps failing every year was usually too light for the job in the first place.
Where the track is worn as well as the rollers, we say so. Fitting new rollers into a worn track brings the same fault straight back, and you pay for the visit twice.
The glass only needs replacing if it is chipped or cracked at an edge. Damage there takes away the strength that toughening gives it.
One visit or two, and what to expect
Send a photo, and for a door, a short video of it moving. That is worth more than any description. It usually lets us find the fault before anyone travels.
Our van carries the common door closers, hinges, clamps, rollers and handles. So we finish most repairs on the first visit. That is on purpose. A second trip for a part costs you another day.
Where a less common part is needed, we quote it and come back once it arrives, usually within a few working days.
Setting and alignment work is almost always done on the spot.
How repair pricing works
We price repairs by the work, not by the square foot. A visit that turns out to be a setting job is charged as a visit. A part replacement is the part plus the fitting.
Where glass does have to be replaced, we charge by area, starting at ₹520 per sq ft, and that includes taking the damaged panel away.
We tell you the likely cost before we travel, wherever the photo and video make that possible. Then you can decide whether it is worth going ahead.
And if the honest answer is that the enclosure or door is worn out, and a repair will not hold, we say so. We do not take the smaller job twice.
