Room doors in a let building are the most-used and least-maintained items in it, and a lock that has to be forced is a lock that is about to fail.

When it does, the tenant is locked out or the room cannot be secured, and that becomes urgent immediately.

So a lock that has started to stick is worth changing at the next visit rather than waiting. It is an inexpensive part, and the alternative is an emergency call-out plus a damaged door.

Windows that have been forced
