In a corporate building a repair involves facilities, security and sometimes a landlord before it involves us. The work itself is usually straightforward. Getting approved, getting in, and working without disrupting a floor full of people is where the time actually goes, so we plan for that explicitly.
Getting people and tools into a corporate building
Most buildings here need names in advance, photo identification at the gate and sometimes an insurance certificate before anybody comes in.\n\nTools may need declaring, and some buildings restrict what can be brought onto a floor during working hours.\n\nSo we ask facilities for their requirements when the job is booked rather than turning up and negotiating at reception. It is a short email and it is the difference between starting at nine and starting at eleven.
Repairs on an occupied floor
A floor full of people cannot be worked around casually, and the noisy part of a glazing repair is short but genuinely disruptive.\n\nSo we identify the fifteen or twenty minutes that will disturb people and place it deliberately — early, late, or over a lunch break.\n\nEverything else can carry on around the floor without anybody noticing. Booking an entire job out of hours because part of it is noisy costs considerably more than it needs to, and we would rather plan it than price it.
Sealed unit failure in a double glazed office
Misting between the panes of a double glazed unit means the seal has failed and moisture is inside the cavity.\n\nIt cannot be dried out or resealed usefully — the unit is sealed at manufacture — so the glass unit is replaced and the frame stays.\n\nOn a corporate elevation the replacement has to match the existing exactly for thickness, coating and tint, or it is visible from outside. We take those details from the spacer bar and the existing unit rather than assuming a standard.

- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
