Film City in Sector 16A is home to many of India's television news channels and production houses. Studios, newsrooms, control rooms and editing suites work around the clock, and many are on air live. Glass is used everywhere here: control room windows, meeting rooms, editing booths. The hardest part of any job is fitting it without interrupting a broadcast.
Working around a live channel
A news channel does not stop. Studios and control rooms are in use day and night, and noise from a drill can go out on air.
So the channel sets the window, often late at night or in a planned gap. We agree it in advance and bring everything cut and drilled, so the work on site is quick and quiet.
We never drill near a live studio without clearance.
Control room and studio windows
A control room looks into the studio through glass. That glass must keep studio sound out of the control room, and stop control room noise reaching the microphones.
A single pane cannot do that. It takes double or triple glazing with a wide sealed gap, often with the panes set at an angle to cut reflections.
This is specialist work, and we price it separately from ordinary partitions.
Edit suites and meeting rooms
Around the studios, channels need many small rooms: edit suites, voice-over booths and meeting rooms. Glass keeps the floor open while giving each room privacy.
For an edit suite, sound matters. Double glazing with proper seals keeps one editor's audio out of the next room.
For a meeting room, frosting at the right height gives privacy without darkening it.
