South Extension Part I and Part II are lined with brand showrooms facing the Ring Road. Clothing, jewellery, furniture, electronics. For these shops, the front glass is the advertisement. It is how the street sees the brand. So the work here is large, visible and done to the brand's own standard, usually at night.
Working to a brand's fit-out drawing
Most showrooms here are part of a chain. The brand sends a fit-out drawing that sets the glass, the frame colour, the door and even the handle.
We work to that drawing exactly. Where something in it will not work on your site, for example a panel too big to bring in, we say so before ordering, not on fitting night.
Our price lists glass, fittings and labour separately, which is what a brand's project team needs.
Large panels on the Ring Road front
Showroom fronts here are tall and wide. Large single panels look best, and at ground level we can usually bring them in whole.
They are also heavy. A big toughened panel needs more people to handle safely, and it cannot be cut on site if a measurement is wrong. So we measure carefully and double-check before ordering.
The front is always toughened glass, because it is a public entrance.
Fitting at night so the shop keeps trading
A showroom here cannot close for a day. So we fit at night, after closing, and finish so the shop opens on time the next morning.
Night work needs a slightly larger team to finish in one go, and that shows as labour in our written price. It is never added later as a surprise.
If a front is broken, we board it safely first so the shop can lock up.
