Yamuna Vihar and the neighbouring Bhajanpura and Maujpur are dense trans-Yamuna colonies. Houses stand close together on small plots, many built up three or four storeys. The lanes between them are narrow. Most of our work here is homes, and getting glass through those lanes is the part we plan most carefully.
Carrying glass through a narrow lane
Many lanes in Yamuna Vihar are too narrow for a delivery vehicle. So it stops on the main road, and the panels are carried the rest of the way by hand.
That means every panel must clear the lane, the front door and the stair. We look at the whole route when we measure, not just the room.
Then we size each panel to arrive safely in one piece.
Small, practical repairs
A lot of the work here is small. A sliding window that stopped moving, a door that no longer shuts, mesh that has torn.
Most of these are a worn part. New rollers fix a stuck window. A hinge fixes a drooping door. New mesh fixes a torn one.
We check the part first and fix only what is broken. It usually costs far less than people expect.
Bathrooms in tightly built houses
Bathrooms in these houses are often small, and a hinged glass door may have no room to swing.
Where the door would hit the toilet or basin, a sliding door or a fixed panel with an open gap works better. We check the swing on site.
In older houses, walls have moved a little, so a slim frame often seals better than frameless glass.
