JP Nagar runs from the old, settled phases near Sarakki out to newer blocks around Puttenahalli. The age of the building tells us most of what we need before we arrive. The older phases are houses, where the work is a replacement. The newer societies are flats, where it is often a first fitting. Along the Ring Road edge there are clinics and small offices. That is a different job again.
Old phase or new phase changes everything
In the older phases, the buildings have settled. The walls are a few millimetres out of straight. A slim aluminium frame takes that up inside the channel, where frameless cannot.
In the newer societies towards Puttenahalli, the walls are straight. There, frameless is the better looking and the simpler choice.
That is the whole decision. We make it with a level at the measuring visit, not over the phone. Anyone who tells you which one you need before seeing the wall is guessing.
Societies, and the paperwork we handle
The gated blocks here want a gate pass, worker IDs, a booked service lift and set daytime work hours. Most want it a day ahead. Some need the flat owner to apply in person.
We arrange all of it. We also measure the service lift as well as the bathroom, because the lift decides the largest panel we can carry up.
Give us the society name when you first get in touch. One call to the facility desk tells us the lift size and the hours. That lets us price the job right, instead of finding a problem on delivery day.
Clinics and small offices on the Ring Road edge
Along the Ring Road side there are dental clinics, scan centres, salons and small firms. The brief is nearly always privacy.
Full-height glass, sealed at the top and both sides, brings a normal talk down to a murmur outside. A partition that stops short of the ceiling will not, at any price.
Small rooms cost more per square foot, because a door set costs the same in a small cabin as in a large one. If the room works without a closing door, a fixed panel with an open doorway drops that cost fully. We will suggest it where it fits.
How long a job takes here
About a week to ten days from start to finish. We usually measure within a day or two. The glass takes a few working days to make. Fitting one enclosure or one cabin is a day.
For bathrooms there is one firm rule. We measure after the tiling is finished, never before. The finished tile face is the size that matters. Toughened glass (safety glass) is cut before it is toughened, so we cannot trim it to fix a guess.
Then allow about a day for the silicone to set before you use the shower.
