Preet Vihar runs along Vikas Marg, one of East Delhi's main commercial roads. Banks, offices, clinics and coaching centres fill the buildings facing the road. Behind them are quieter residential blocks. So our work here is mostly offices and classrooms, with shower glass and windows in the flats just behind.
Coaching classrooms and the noise problem
Coaching centres here want glass partitions between classrooms. They look open and bright. But one thing needs saying early.
A single sheet of glass does not stop much sound. It is rigid, and noise passes through it. One class will hear the next.
For real quiet, you need double glazing with a sealed gap. It costs more because it is a different product. We quote both and tell you honestly what each will do.
Bank and office cabins on Vikas Marg
Banks and offices here want private cabins for managers and meeting rooms. Most of these spaces are rented.
If yours is, a framed aluminium system is usually the sensible choice. It bolts in and comes out cleanly when the lease ends.
The lifts in these buildings are small, so we measure the lift before designing. Tall panels may need a slim joint.
Deliveries before Vikas Marg fills
Vikas Marg is busy from mid-morning until late. A delivery vehicle standing on it causes trouble quickly.
So we deliver before nine, unload fast, and move the vehicle before carrying anything up. The fitting happens after, quietly.
For coaching centres, Sunday is often best, when there are no classes running.
