Yelahanka is one of the few parts of the city that was properly planned, and that makes our job much easier. The roads in New Town, Judicial Layout and Attur are wide, the plots are regular, and a vehicle can park outside your gate without being a problem. So we can bring in longer panels here than in most of Bengaluru, which widens what is possible.
Wide roads mean bigger panels
This sounds small, and it is not. In most of the city, panel size is limited by a lane, a staircase turn or a service lift.
Here the roads take a long vehicle, the gates are wide, and villas are ground and first floor. So we can often use one panel where elsewhere we would have to make the same run as two panels with a joint.
One panel with no joint looks better and takes less time to fit. Where it is possible we will suggest it, and Yelahanka is one of the places it usually is.
Villas, and the jobs that come with them
The villa projects here bring work that flats do not. A glass stair railing. A fixed screen at an entrance. A terrace partition. And a shower enclosure in each of three or four bathrooms.
Do them in one order. One measuring visit, one delivery and one booking for our team covers the whole house, instead of three or four of each spread over months.
A chipped or cracked toughened panel is worth replacing, not watching. Damage to the edge takes away the strength that toughening gives the glass, and a stair railing is not the place to find that out.
New builds and the tiling rule
A lot of Yelahanka is still being built, so plenty of our work here is a first fitting in a home nobody has lived in yet.
That is the easiest site we ever get, with one firm rule. We measure after the tiling is finished, never before. The finished tile face is the size we cut to, and toughened glass cannot be trimmed afterwards.
