Sector 63 was laid out as industrial plots and now holds a mixture: small manufacturers, studios, offices, warehouses and a growing number of production units. The buildings were designed for things to be carried into them, which makes this one of the easiest and cheapest places in NCR to fit large glass.
Offices built inside sheds
The most common job here is an office fitted inside an industrial building - a mezzanine or a corner of a shed turned into cabins and a meeting room.
That brings one detail that a tower fit-out never has: there is usually no false ceiling, just a slab or a roof structure with services under it. So the top of the partition is a real decision rather than a default.
Running the glass to the underside of the structure looks deliberate and cuts noticeably more sound. Stopping at a set height is cheaper and keeps the services reachable. Both are proper answers, and we will show you each against your actual ceiling. What we avoid is stopping at an arbitrary height and leaving a gap that looks like the job ran out.
Large panels, and when they are worth it
Because everything comes in at ground level, we can bring panels here that would be impossible in a tower. Single-piece, full-height runs with no joints at all.
That is genuinely worth having on a reception wall or a display front, where a joint would be the first thing anyone sees.
It is worth less on a run of cabins along a corridor, where a slim connector falls at a line nobody looks at. And it carries a real cost: a very large toughened panel needs more people to handle safely, and if it is damaged it is remade rather than repaired.
So we will tell you where the single panel earns its money and where it does not, rather than defaulting to the biggest thing that fits through the door.
Studios, and what glass does about sound
There are a lot of production and content studios in Sector 63 now, and they ask for glass partitions for the same reason everyone does - the space stays open and light.
The honest answer on sound needs saying early. A single sheet of toughened glass cuts far less noise than people expect, because it is rigid and sound passes straight through. A glass partition between a shoot floor and an edit room, in single glazing, will disappoint you.
Where sound genuinely matters the answer is double glazing with a sealed cavity, and ideally two different glass thicknesses so the two panes do not resonate together. It costs more because it is a different product. We will price both and be plain about what each will achieve.
