We install mosquito net and mesh on windows across Bengaluru. Net, mesh and jali all mean the same thing here, and this is it. The city's evenings are made for open windows, and dengue season is made of the reasons nobody opens them. A fitted mesh ends the trade-off: air and light come through, mosquitoes and every other flying thing do not. Why stainless mesh frames outlast everything else
The mesh sold door to door is fibreglass net on velcro, and Bengaluru sun turns it brittle within a couple of seasons. It tears at a touch, sags open at corners, and mosquitoes are patient about gaps.
SS304 stainless mesh is a different object: woven steel wire, fine enough to stop mosquitoes and see through cleanly, strong enough to shrug off birds, pets' claws and cleaning. It does not rust in monsoon air, does not brittle in sun, and stays taut in its frame for years.
The frame matters equally: powder-coated aluminium sections, mitred and cornered square, with the mesh held in a rubber spline all round. The result is a window fitting, not an accessory, and it looks like it came with the building.
Openable, sliding or fixed, matched to each window
A mesh frame must not cost you the use of the window behind it, so the fitting style follows the window.
Sliding windows usually take a sliding mesh shutter running in a spare track channel, or an added slim track. The mesh slides aside exactly like the glass does.
Casement and openable windows take hinged mesh frames that swing, or fixed frames on the outside face if the shutters open inward.
Windows nobody opens the grille of, bathrooms and utility spaces, do fine with screwed fixed frames, the simplest and cheapest.
On the measuring visit we walk window by window, and each gets the style that keeps it fully usable. Mixed orders are the norm, priced by the same per-square-foot rate throughout.
From measurement to fitted mesh
We measure every opening individually, because windows that look identical rarely are, and a mesh frame wants to fit its own window within a couple of millimetres.
Fabrication takes three to five working days: sections cut and mitred, corners cleated, mesh tensioned and splined, colour matched to your window frames in the standard powder-coat shades.
Fitting is quick and clean: frames screwed or clipped to the window sections, sliding shutters dropped into their tracks, foam sealing strip run wherever frame meets frame so there is no bypass gap around the mesh. No civil work, no mess, and a full flat is normally fitted in half a day.

What mesh costs, and thinking per window
Mesh installation is priced by area, at ₹190 per sq ft of mesh, because windows vary so much. A typical 4 x 4 ft window works out around ₹3,000, and a whole 2BHK's windows usually land in the mid-tens of thousands depending on count and sizes.
Per square foot, note what the price includes: SS304 mesh rather than fibreglass, made-to-size powder-coated frames, and fitting with sealing. Cheaper rates around the market are usually fibreglass mesh or fixed-only frames, and the difference shows within a year.
Mesh is one of the few home improvements that works from the first evening: windows open, fan off or on, and the room's insect count simply stops being a topic.
