Buildings here often have a practice on one floor and a family on another, and the repair list differs completely between them. A clinic needs things that affect patients fixed quickly; a home can usually wait for a convenient day. We handle both, in aluminium, uPVC, wood and steel.
Repairs that cannot wait in a practice
In a consulting space the urgent faults are the ones patients experience: a door that does not close for privacy, a window that lets in the road, a broken mirror or a failed lock.\n\nThose are small jobs with a large effect, and they are worth treating as urgent even though nothing is broken structurally.\n\nSo when a practice calls we ask which faults a patient would notice, and we do those first. It is a different priority order from a home, and it is usually the order that matters.

Rooms facing the main road get constant traffic noise, and in a consulting room that is a privacy problem as much as a comfort one - if you can hear the road, the corridor can hear you.\n\nThe usual weak point is an old openable window whose seals have hardened, not the glass.\n\nReplacing the gaskets and adjusting the closing is cheap and often enough. Where it is not, secondary glazing - a second pane fitted inside the existing window - is far less disruptive than replacing the window and performs well.
Entrance doors used by people who are unwell
A door into a practice is used by people carrying files, holding children, or moving slowly, and the standard commercial setup is often wrong for them.\n\nA closer set too strong makes the door hard to push; a threshold strip is a trip hazard; a handle that needs a firm grip excludes people.\n\nSo we set the closing force lighter than usual, keep the threshold flush, and fit a lever or bar rather than a knob. None of it costs more. It simply has to be asked for, and it usually is not.

- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
