The main roads here carry offices and the blocks behind them are residential, often in the same ownership. So we are frequently asked for an office repair and a home repair in the same week. The work is the usual range, and the useful thing we can offer is doing both without two sets of travel.
Office repairs that have to happen outside hours
Anything in a working office that makes noise or blocks a route has to be done outside working hours, and that is a scheduling question rather than a technical one.\n\nDoor and partition work is disruptive; changing a window gasket or a mesh usually is not.\n\nSo we split an office list into what can be done during the day and what cannot, and quote accordingly. Sending everything to an out-of-hours visit costs more than it needs to, and most lists are mostly daytime work.
The office door, which is the hardest-worked thing you own
An office entrance door in a small business is opened a few hundred times a day and is almost never maintained until it fails.\n\nThe failure is gradual: the closer weakens, the door stops latching, people push harder, and the fittings loosen.\n\nA twice-yearly adjustment - closing speed, latch action, hinge or spring tension - costs very little and prevents nearly all of it. We are happy to do that as a scheduled visit alongside anything else on the list.
Doing the home and the office on one journey
Where somebody runs a business at the front and lives behind, we would rather do both in one visit than bill two.\n\nThe travel and the setting up are the fixed costs of any small repair, and they do not double just because there are two addresses a few streets apart.\n\nSo tell us about both when you call. We will bring the parts for each and plan an order that gets the office done outside its hours and the home during them.

- We call you back in about 2 minutesWe confirm what you need and a time to visit. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening and check the walls, floor and ceiling around it. Anything made to size is made to these measurements, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
