We replace the mesh in existing window mesh frames across Bengaluru. Mesh frames outlive their mesh several times over: the aluminium stays square for decades while the net in it tears on a corner, sags out of its spline, or simply ages porous. A torn mesh is worse than none, because it looks like protection while mosquitoes commute through the hole. If your frames are sound, you do not need new frames, and nobody should sell you them. New mesh in your old frames starts at ₹120 per sq ft, and most windows are done on the spot.
When replacement beats reinstallation
A mesh frame is a simple, durable object: aluminium sections and corners that hold their shape for twenty years. The mesh is the consumable stretched inside it.
So the first question on any torn-mesh call is the frame's health, and the answer is usually excellent. Square corners, straight sections, spline channel intact: that frame deserves new mesh, not a skip.
Replacement is the right call when mesh is torn, sagging, moth-holed or aged brittle in healthy frames. Reinstallation is for frames that are bent, corroded through, or were never made to fit, and we quote our installation rate honestly when that is what we find. Most calls end at the cheaper answer.
How re-meshing is done
The frame comes off the window or out of its track, and the old mesh and its spline cord come out of the channel.
New mesh is cut oversize, laid across the frame, and rolled into the channel with fresh spline, working around the frame so tension builds even and the weave stays square. Tension is the craft: too loose sags within weeks, too tight bows the frame's long sections inward. Done right, the mesh sits drum-flat.
The surplus trims flush, the frame goes back, and the window is protected again within the hour. We always fit fresh spline rather than reusing the old cord, because compressed spline is why re-meshed panels done cheaply let go of their mesh early.
Choosing the new mesh
Like-for-like fibreglass mesh is the budget path, and we fit it where asked, with its lifespan stated honestly: a few seasons in Bengaluru sun.
The upgrade worth its price is SS304 stainless mesh in your existing frames: the same weave we use in new installations, tear-proof in normal life and unaffected by sun. Frames built for fibreglass take it well in nearly all cases.
There are also purpose meshes where the situation calls: heavier pet mesh where cats and dogs have ended nets before, and finer weaves where the complaint includes the smallest midges. We carry samples on the visit, and you choose with the mesh in your hand.
Priced per square foot, honestly
Re-meshing starts at ₹120 per sq ft with standard mesh, with stainless and specialty weaves priced above that by material. A typical window panel lands in the few-hundreds, which is the argument for doing every tired panel in the house in one visit.
The figure includes removal, fresh spline, tensioning and refitting. Where a frame needs minor first aid, a corner re-cleated, a bend eased, we do it within the visit rather than upselling a new frame.
One torn panel usually predicts its siblings: the sun that killed one has been working on all of them. The sensible booking, and the common one, is the whole flat's panels re-meshed together.
