Choose a mosquito screen by how you use the opening. A window needs access to its handle and room for cleaning. A balcony door needs a clear route for people walking through. Choose the opening movement before the mesh finish
Start with a photo of the whole window or door. Include the handle, sill and any grill around the opening. An inward-opening window needs space for its leaf to move. A sliding screen needs a separate path beside the glass.
For a door used throughout the day, compare sliding and pleated systems. Check how the bottom guide sits across the walking route. For a window used less often, a removable or openable frame may be enough. The best choice depends on the opening, rather than one universal screen type.
Compare a complete frame price with a mesh-only repair
A new installation includes more than the sheet of mesh. Its frame, guides, closing edges and fitting all affect the price. A replacement sheet uses the frame already on your window. That is why the lowest replacement rate is not a new-window price.
Measure the width and height of each opening separately. The quoted square feet refer to mesh area, not the room's floor area. Share the number of openings as well as their approximate sizes. The final written quote confirms the measured area, system and GST.
When keeping the old frame makes sense
A small tear does not automatically mean buying a new screen. We check whether the frame is straight and its corners hold. A sound frame may only need fresh mesh and a closing adjustment.
A bent frame, damaged track or gap around an edge needs different work. Replacing mesh alone will not close a gap beside the frame. Send both a close photo of the damage and the whole opening. We can then plan the inspection around the likely repair.
Mosquito screens and pigeon nets solve different problems
Mosquito mesh has fine openings intended to keep insects outside. Pigeon netting has much larger openings and serves a different purpose. The separately priced pigeon net below is available in Bengaluru. It is not an alternative to a mosquito screen.
Neither an insect screen nor ordinary pigeon netting replaces a protective railing. Keep the existing balcony barrier in place when planning a screen. Confirm society access rules before arranging work outside the opening.
Cleaning access matters after the fitting is finished
Choose a screen you can reach safely from inside the room. Ask how its panel opens or comes out for cleaning. Use the cleaning method suited to the selected mesh and frame. For a moving screen, keep its guide clear of loose dirt.
Do not force a panel that catches or leaves its track. A photo of the guide helps us identify the next check. If a high external panel needs attention, arrange access for the team. Do not lean beyond a balcony railing to reach it.
