The short answer
A velcro mosquito net comes off when the tape under the velcro lets go. Strong sun, wind and pulling the net aside all loosen that tape over time. We do not sell or re-stick velcro nets. We fit magnetic mesh, which snaps onto a steel band, or a framed mesh instead.

The tape behind the velcro has lost its grip
- How to tell
- The net peels away at a top corner first, then droops down one side. The velcro still grips the net, but the strip itself has lifted off the window.
- What we do
- We fit magnetic mesh in place of the net. Its light frame carries a magnetic strip that closes onto a steel band around the window. The hold runs along the whole edge, so no corner hangs loose.

- How to tell
- The net puffs in and out in a breeze, and the same edge keeps coming loose. It happens more on high floors and windows that catch strong wind.
- What we do
- We fit a rigid mesh frame instead, made of slim aluminium sections. The frame is fixed to the window, so wind finds no loose edge. The mesh is stainless steel wire, which stays tight in its frame.

- How to tell
- Behind the velcro net, the window has mesh frames whose mesh has torn or sagged. The velcro net was stuck on to cover the damage.
- What we do
- In that case, you do not need a velcro net or new frames. We fit new mesh into the frames you already have, and the velcro net can come down.

What you can check first
These checks are safe to do yourself. A photo or a short video of what you find helps us come prepared.
- See whether the velcro strip lifts off the window, or the net pulls off the strip.
- Notice whether the net comes loose on windy days or when the fan is on.
- Look behind the velcro net for an old mesh frame on the window.
- Look for a grille close to the glass, which leaves little room for a frame.
- Ask your landlord whether drilling into the window frame is allowed.
Do not climb onto a window ledge to press a high net back into place. On an upper floor, one slip there can end in a fall.

Does magnetic mesh also depend on tape, like velcro does?
On smooth frames, the steel band is usually stuck on with strong tape. That tape can age on windows that get hot afternoon sun. On those windows, we screw the band on if you allow it. The magnets themselves do not weaken.
Magnetic mesh or a mesh frame: which suits a rented flat?
Magnetic mesh usually suits a rented flat better. It usually needs no drilling, and you can take the panels when you move. A mesh frame is screwed or clipped to the window, so it stays behind.
Can we still clean the window glass with magnetic mesh fitted?
Yes. Peel the panel off from one corner, clean the glass, and press it back. It settles onto the steel band by itself along every edge.
