Most repair calls from Electronic City floors are about doors, not glass. A cabin door that slams, drifts open, or will not shut properly is almost always a parts problem. The glass is fine. Getting that right before anyone travels matters. Fixing a door closer and replacing a panel are very different jobs, and they take very different amounts of time.
What usually goes wrong on an office door
The floor spring, more often than anything else. This is the part under the door that pulls it shut. A door in constant use slowly wears out. You notice it as slamming, drifting open, or not shutting.
The rest is lining things up. A lock that no longer meets its catch. A handle out of line. Or clamps that need tightening. We sort all of that out on the glass you already have.
Where a part needs replacing, we pick one made for the weight of the door and how often it is used. We do not fit the same too-small part again and get called back next year.
Getting a repair team onto the campus
Getting in usually takes longer than the repair. Even a short visit needs worker IDs, and in many buildings a booked lift slot.
Campuses are usually easier about a two hour repair than a full night of fitting. We also keep our paperwork on file with the buildings we visit often, which speeds it up.
Send a photo, and for a door, a short video of it moving. That normally tells us what has failed before anyone travels. So the right part is on the van the first time, not the second.
Broken glass on a working floor
If glass is broken or unsafe, the first visit makes the area safe. We take out the loose glass and board or screen the opening, so your floor stays usable and secure.
Then we make the new panel. Toughened glass (safety glass) is cut and drilled first, then toughened. Nothing can be done to it after that. So a made-to-size panel takes a few working days.
Glass with a chipped edge is worth replacing, not watching. Damage to the edge takes away the strength the toughening gives it, and a full-height panel beside a walkway is not the place to take a risk.
