In a settled sector like this a good number of households have somebody at home through the day, and that changes how a repair should be run. The work is ordinary. Doing it without making the house unliveable for a day is the part worth planning, and it costs nothing to plan.
Grouping the noisy part rather than spreading it
Most of a glazing repair is quiet. There is usually a short period of drilling or cutting that genuinely is not.\n\nSpread across a day that short period ruins the whole day for anybody at home.\n\nSo we identify it and do all of it in one block, at a time you choose, rather than whenever we reach that stage of each item. It takes slightly more organising on our side and it is the difference between a disruptive day and a tolerable one.
Working room by room rather than everywhere
A visit dealing with six items across a house can easily have all six rooms open at once, which leaves nowhere comfortable to be.\n\nSo we finish one room before opening the next, even where it would be quicker to do all the drilling first.\n\nIt adds a little time overall and it means the household always has somewhere normal to sit. On a longer list in an occupied house that matters more to people than the hour it costs.
Leaving the house as we found it
Drilling into masonry and tile produces a fine dust that settles for hours afterwards, well beyond the room it was made in.\n\nSweeping afterwards moves it around rather than removing it.\n\nSo we sheet the working area before starting and vacuum at the drill rather than cleaning up at the end. It takes longer, and in a house where somebody is there all day it is most of what people actually notice about how a job was done.
How the job works
- Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
- We call you back in about 2 minutesWe confirm what you need and a time to visit. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening and check the walls, floor and ceiling around it. Anything made to size is made to these measurements, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
