A studio building runs long hours with equipment being moved through it constantly, and the wear falls on two things above all: the doors, which are wide and used with hands full, and the mirrors, which are large and in constant use. Both fail in ways worth anticipating rather than reacting to.
Wide doors that equipment is carried through
Doors here are made wide so cases and stands can pass, and a wide door is heavy, which is exactly what shortens the life of its fittings.\n\nThe floor spring and the bottom patch carry all of it and wear noticeably faster.\n\nSo we fit hardware rated above what a standard entrance would use, and we check alignment on any visit rather than waiting to be called. A wide door that has begun to drop damages its own glass at the corner, and that is the expensive failure.
Large mirrors in constant use
Dressing and rehearsal mirrors are large, and a large mirror fixed only with adhesive will eventually come away from the wall.\n\nIn a room full of people that is a safety matter rather than an inconvenience.\n\nSo we fix these mechanically and use safety-backed mirror glass, which holds the pieces together if it breaks. On a mirror of that size the difference between a mess and an injury is entirely in how it was fixed, and it is not visible once it is up.
Working around a schedule that cannot move
A shoot or a recording booked for a particular day cannot be rescheduled around a repair, and the noisy part of any glazing job is genuinely disruptive.\n\nSo we ask what is happening in the building before agreeing a time, rather than proposing one.\n\nThat usually finds a window nobody would have offered — between setups, or on a dark day. It is far less disruptive than an out-of-hours visit and it costs less, and it only needs asking.

- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
