Sohna Road is one of the few places where we are as likely to be repairing an office door as a shower hinge, often within a few hundred metres of each other. That density is useful to you: a repair here is rarely a dedicated trip, which means we can usually reach a small job quickly rather than batching it into next week.
Office faults and home faults, and how they differ
They wear differently, and knowing which you have saves a wasted call-out.
An office door fails by cycles. It is opened hundreds of times a day and the floor spring or overhead closer reaches the end of its rated life. Symptoms: slamming, drifting open, catching at one corner.
A home fitting fails by time and moisture. A shower hinge wears, a seal strip goes hard, a window roller flattens. Symptoms: a door that drops, water escaping, a window that binds.
Almost none of these are the glass. In both cases we check the moving part first and quote a replacement only when the part genuinely is not the problem.
The seals nobody thinks about
In both offices and flats, the cheapest and most overlooked repair is the seal.
In a shower, the strips along the bottom and side of the door harden and shrink over the years, and once they do water escapes. People frequently assume the enclosure has failed. It has not - the consumable part has, and replacing it is a short, inexpensive job.
In an office partition, the gaskets and the brush seal at the door head do the same, and the symptom is different: noise. A meeting room that has become audible from the corridor has usually lost its seals rather than developed a glass problem. Both are worth checking before anyone quotes you anything structural.
Getting to you quickly on a small job
The honest constraint on repair work anywhere is that a single small job is a whole trip, and the trip is most of the cost.
Sohna Road helps with that, because we are frequently on this road already. It means we can often attach a small repair to a day that is happening anyway, which is both faster for you and cheaper than a dedicated visit.
So if you are flexible about the day, say so when you call - it usually means sooner rather than later. And tell us everything that needs looking at, because one visit covering five faults is a much better number than five visits covering one each.
How the job works
- Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
- We call you backUsually the same day. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call. Then you know if a visit is worth your time.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening. We also check the walls, floor, ceiling and the way in. Your glass is made to these final sizes, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt shows the glass, the fittings and the fitting work as separate lines. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.
