On an estate built in phases, the same windows and doors were fitted to hundreds of homes at the same time. That has a useful consequence: the faults are consistent, so we usually know what is wrong before arriving, and we can carry the parts that fit.
Knowing the fault before we arrive
When the same system is fitted across an estate, it fails in the same way at roughly the same age everywhere.\n\nSo a description of the symptom over the phone is far more reliable here than it is on a street of individually built houses.\n\nThat means we can often bring the right part to the first visit and finish in one go. It is worth mentioning the estate and the phase when you call, because it genuinely changes whether the job takes one visit or two.
Doing several homes on the same street
Because neighbours have identical fittings, the same fault tends to appear along a street within a year or so of itself.\n\nWhere several homes want the same work, doing them together is cheaper for everyone: one journey, parts ordered in quantity, and one setting up.\n\nWe are happy to quote a street or a block on that basis. Each home is still measured and priced on its own, but the shared costs are shared rather than charged separately to each.
Keeping to the estate's external appearance
On an estate like this the outside of the building is expected to look consistent, and replacements that do not match stand out badly.\n\nSo where an external window, grille or balcony glazing is being replaced, we match the original colour, section and division rather than fitting the nearest equivalent.\n\nWhere something has been discontinued we say so before ordering and discuss what will look closest. It is much easier to agree that beforehand than to explain a mismatched window to a neighbour afterwards.

- We come and measureWe measure the opening and check the walls, floor and ceiling around it. Anything made to size is made to these measurements, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
