The signs a door is out of alignment
The gap along the closing edge is wide at the top and tight at the bottom, or the other way round. A healthy door shows an even gap all the way down.
The door scrapes the floor through part of its swing, but not all of it. That is a tilt, not a dropped floor.
The door closes, then springs back open a finger's width. The latch or the closing line no longer meets square.
On a shower door, water starts escaping at one corner. The seal has not failed. The door is holding it away from the glass it should touch.
All four signs have the same cause: the door is no longer hanging square. Setting it back is exact work, but it is quick.
Why glass doors go out of square
Every swing of the door works on its fixings. On a hinged door, the screws behind the hinges ease a little over time. A floor spring is the closer set into the floor under the door, and its pivot wears and lets the door settle. On a shower door, the plugs in the tile can shift slightly.
This is what daily use does, even to a well-fitted door. A busy office door swings many times a day. A millimetre of movement at the hinge becomes a centimetre at the far edge.
Caught early, it is an adjustment. Left for a year, the door can grind its corner on the floor. A ground corner is where toughened glass can crack. Setting the door early costs far less than new glass later.
What we do on an alignment visit
We read the door first: the gaps, the swing, where it touches and where it should not. That tells us which fitting has moved.
Then we set the door in its fittings. Glass fittings hold the door in slotted clamps, which leave room for adjustment. We loosen, shift and re-tighten in small steps. After each step we check the closing edge. We stop when the gap runs even and the door closes without a push.
If a pivot, hinge or closer has worn out, adjustment alone will not hold. We show you the worn part and price it separately. Many alignment visits need no parts at all.
The visit price, and when parts get added
The visit is ₹2,070. It covers travel and up to two hours of work. One door rarely takes that long, so two or three doors can often be set in the same visit.
Parts are added only when something has worn out. That could be a floor spring that has lost its oil, or a hinge with a worn pin. It could also be a top pivot worn oval. Each has a fixed price, supplied and fitted.
You do not pay for a new door. Glass does not warp, so the door itself is rarely the problem.
