A glass door that slams, drifts, rubs the floor or will not lock has not gone wrong in the glass. It has gone wrong in the hardware that holds the glass: the floor spring, the patch fittings, the lock and the handle. We repair glass doors and windows across Bengaluru by checking those in order and changing only the part that has failed. The glass itself is not touched. Most glass doors are closing right again in one visit.
Glass doors that slam, drift or will not close
Nearly always the floor spring. It is the closer set into the floor under the door, and it holds oil. When the oil goes, the door slams shut, or stops pulling itself shut at all. A dark patch on the floor at the pivot is the oil.
We lift the door off, change the spring for one rated for the weight of the door, set the closing speed and the final snap, and hang the door back. It takes about an hour. A door with an overhead closer instead is the same job at the top of the door.
Glass doors that rub the floor or miss the lock
A frameless glass door hangs on patch fittings, the metal clamps at the top and bottom of the glass. They loosen over time, and the door drops a few millimetres. That is enough to rub the floor, miss its lock and leave a gap at the top.
We re-set the door in its fittings, tighten them to the right torque, and align the keeper. Worn fittings are changed. A patch lock that has worn is changed once the door is sitting right, and not before, because a lock forced against a dropped door breaks again.
Sliding glass doors and shower doors
A sliding glass door that drags or judders is running on worn rollers in its top track. We change them as a pair rated for the weight of the glass, dress the track and set the door so the hook lock meets its keeper.
A shower door that sags, will not close or leaks at the hinge is the same job with wall-to-glass hinges. We change the hinges, re-hang the door plumb, and renew the seal along its edges.
Glass windows: rattling, loose and leaking
A glass pane that rattles in its frame has rubber that has shrunk. A pane that has come loose has beading that has failed, the strip that holds it in. We renew the rubber and the beading and re-bed the pane, and it sits firm again.
A glass window that leaks at the frame is sealed inside and out with weather-grade silicone. A cracked pane is measured, made to size and fitted on a return visit, with the frame staying in the wall and the opening covered in the meantime.
Offices, shops and showrooms
Most glass doors we repair are on offices, shops and showrooms, and most of those cannot close for the day. So we work at night or on a Sunday when you ask. The door is made safe and closing during the day, and the part is changed when the premises are shut.
A glass partition door in an office cabin is the same job as an entrance door: closer, fittings, lock and alignment.
What it costs, and how fast we come in Bengaluru
Every part is one fixed price, supplied and fitted, and the size of the door does not change it. A door that only needs setting and tightening pays for the visit alone. The rates are on this page, and you see the worn part before we change it.
Our own team covers Bengaluru, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm, with night and Sunday work for offices and shops. In the areas we list they can usually reach you within 29 minutes, depending on traffic and which team is free. Send a short video of the door closing, and we bring the right closer.
