A sliding door runs on small wheels called rollers. When they wear, the door gets heavy to move, judders along the track, or jumps out of it. People often blame the track, but most of the time it is the rollers. We replace them with rollers rated for the weight of your door, and we check the track on the same visit. Prices start at ₹1,800 per door, supplied and fitted.
How rollers fail
The wheel wears flat on one side. A door that sits in the same place for months puts all its weight on one spot of the wheel. When it finally moves, it thumps instead of rolling.
The bearing inside the wheel seizes. Dust and grit get in, the wheel stops turning, and it drags along the track instead. You can hear this one. It scrapes.
The housing that holds the wheel cracks or bends. Then the door drops on that side and rubs on the frame.
And sometimes the roller was simply too light for the door from the start. A heavy glass panel on small rollers wears them out in a year or two. We fit rollers rated for the weight, so it does not happen again.
Glass sliders and aluminium sliders are different jobs
A frameless glass sliding door hangs from a track at the top. The rollers are in hangers clamped to the top edge of the glass, and the bottom only has a guide. To change them, the door is lifted off the track.
An aluminium sliding door or window runs on rollers at the bottom, set into the sash. The door lifts up and out of the frame, and the rollers are changed from underneath.

Why we check the track too
New rollers on a worn track bring the same fault back in a few months. So we look at the track before we fit anything.
On a bottom-rolling aluminium door, the track is a thin raised rail. Years of a seized roller dragging along it wear a groove, or flatten the rail. A light dressing with a file often fixes it. A badly worn section is replaced.
On a top-hung glass door, the track is usually fine, but the stoppers and the bottom guide are often loose or missing. We reset them, because a missing guide is why a door swings and jumps off.
If the track needs more than a dressing, we tell you and price it separately. We do not fit new rollers to a track that will chew them up.
What decides the price
A pair of rollers for one sliding door, supplied and fitted, starts at ₹1,800. That covers most aluminium doors and windows, and the lighter glass sliders.
Heavy glass panels need heavier rollers, and those cost more. A top-hung frameless set with new hangers is a bigger part than a pair of bottom rollers.
Dressing the track is included. Replacing a section of track is a separate line. If you have several doors or windows, we do them in one visit, and the visit cost is shared across them.
