An aluminium sliding door is large panels of toughened glass in slim metal frames, sliding on a track set into the floor. It is the door to choose when the opening is wide and you want to see the balcony, not the frame. Aluminium is strong enough to hold tall, wide glass in a narrow frame, which uPVC and wood cannot match. Two, three or four panels: planning a wide sliding door
The width of your opening decides the number of panels. A normal balcony opening takes two. One slides behind the other, so half the opening is clear when the door is open.
A wider opening takes three or four. With three panels on three tracks, two of them stack behind the third, and two thirds of the opening is clear. With four panels, the middle two slide apart and the opening is clear in the centre.
More panels is not always better. Each extra track makes the floor track wider, and each meeting point adds a line of frame to the view. We sketch the choices at the measuring visit, with the clear opening each one gives you, and you choose.
The floor track, the sill and the step into the balcony
A sliding door runs on a track fixed to the floor. How that track meets your floor decides how the door feels every day.
Most homes have a raised sill between the room and the balcony, and the track sits on it. That sill also keeps rain water on the balcony side. If yours is level and sound, the new track goes straight onto it.
If the sill is broken, out of level or missing, it has to be put right before the door is fitted. A track on a bad sill gives a door that drags within a year. Masonry is not our work. We show you what is needed when we measure, so your mason can do it before the fitting day.
Black, grey or wood-look: choosing the frame colour
Aluminium is powder coated, so the colour is your choice. Black and dark grey give the sharp, thin outline that most people picture when they think of a modern sliding door. White and ivory disappear into a pale wall. A wood-look finish suits a house with timber elsewhere.
The colour is put on before the door is made and cannot be changed later, so choose it when you order. If you are having aluminium windows made as well, order them together. Then the colour comes from one batch and matches exactly.
Aluminium sliding door price per sq ft in Bengaluru
The rate starts at ₹650 per sq ft, fitted, before GST. That is for a standard two-panel door with clear toughened glass. An opening 8 ft wide and 7 ft high is 56 sq ft, so it starts at ₹36,400.
The rate rises with a third or fourth panel, a third track with a sliding mosquito net door, a wood-look finish and a safety grill.
Prices for aluminium sliding doors vary widely from one quote to the next. Most of the difference is the weight of the frame, the rollers and the glass. When you compare, check that each quote is for toughened glass and says how many panels and tracks it includes. Ours lists all of that, line by line.

A sliding mosquito net door on the same frame
A sliding door that stays open in the evening lets in every mosquito on the balcony. A third track solves that. It carries a full-height net door that slides across the opening while the glass is pushed back.
It has to be planned with the frame. A frame made with two tracks cannot take a net door later. If you are unsure, ask us to price the door both ways. The difference is smaller than the cost of changing a frame.
How the job runs, and where we work
Send a photo of the opening and its rough width and height on WhatsApp, or use the enquiry form. We come and measure. We check the sill, the wall on both sides, and how the glass will reach your floor. Large toughened panels do not fit in every lift, and we plan for that before the glass is made.
You get a written price. Once you agree, you pay an advance for the materials, because glass and frames made to your sizes fit no other home. The fitting date comes in writing with the price.
On the day, the old door comes out and is carried away. The new track is set level, the frame is fixed and sealed, and the panels are hung. You pay the balance when every panel slides with a light push and the lock holds.
