Aluminium doors are everywhere in Bengaluru. Shop doors, office entrance doors, kitchen and balcony doors, and the door to the terrace. The frame lasts for decades. The parts inside it do not. Hinges sag, locks jam, door closers leak, and the rubber gaskets that hold the glass shrink and let it rattle. We repair all of that on the door you have, and we replace the glass in it if it has cracked. A repair visit starts at ₹2,300.
What goes wrong with an aluminium door
The door drops at the hinge side and scrapes the floor or the frame. The hinges have worn, or the screws holding them have pulled out of the aluminium.
The lock jams, or the key turns and nothing happens. The lock body or the cylinder has worn out. Sometimes the keeper on the frame has moved.
The door slams or will not close. The overhead door closer has lost its oil, the same fault a glass door gets.
The glass rattles in the frame. The rubber gasket around the glass has shrunk with age and sun. This is very common on doors more than ten years old.
The corner joints have opened up, so the frame is no longer square. The door binds at one corner and gaps at another.
All of these are repairs. None of them needs a new door.
Hinged, sliding and folding doors
A hinged aluminium door swings on two or three hinges screwed to the frame, with an overhead closer on shop and office doors. Hinges, closer, lock and gasket are the usual repairs.
A sliding aluminium door runs on bottom rollers. Rollers, track, guides and lock are the usual repairs, and we have a separate page on rollers.
A folding door, the type that opens right back on a balcony or a shop front, runs on a top track with hinges between each panel. These have the most moving parts and the most to adjust. We reset the panels so they fold without binding.

Parts we carry, and parts we order
Most aluminium doors in Bengaluru are built from a handful of standard sections. The hinges, locks, handles, rollers and closers that fit them are standard too. We carry the common ones on the van, so most repairs finish on the first visit.
Older doors, and doors built from an unusual section, sometimes need a part that is no longer made. We tell you that honestly. Usually there is a near equivalent that fits with a small change. Sometimes the right answer is a new lock of a different type, fitted into the same door.
Gasket comes in a few sizes. We measure the glass thickness and the channel, and bring the right one.
What decides the price
A repair visit starts at ₹2,300. That covers travel and up to two hours of work, and it includes any setting or adjustment. Re-squaring a door on its hinges, resetting a lock keeper, or tightening a frame is inside that.
Parts are on their own line, at a fixed price each. A pair of hinges, a lock and handle set, an overhead closer, or rollers. Gasket is priced by the running foot.
If the glass in the door has cracked, that is a separate job by the square foot, and we make it safe on this visit.
If we find the frame has rusted through at the bottom, which happens on doors that stand in rain, we say so. A repair on a rotten frame does not hold, and we would rather tell you than take the money twice.
