Choose this when a glass door makes noise and the noisy fitting needs finding.

Where the squeak comes from
A squeak on the swing is usually a hinge or pivot running dry. The factory grease inside dries out after a few years, and metal rubs on metal.
A creak at the start of the swing is often a loose fixing. The hinge shifts slightly under the door's weight, and the creak is that movement.
A grinding sound near the floor means the door has dropped, and its bottom edge or fitting is touching. Do not ignore this one, because grinding wears the door and the floor with every swing.
A squeal from a sliding door is usually a roller with a flat spot, dragging instead of turning.
Each sound points to a different part. That is why we listen to the door before we touch it.
Why household oil makes it worse
The first thing most people try is a spray of whatever oil is at home. The door goes quiet for a week, then squeaks worse than before.
Thin oil washes out the grease that is left, and then it dries. The metal ends up barer than it started. The oil also runs down the glass and pools on the floor at the pivot. An oily patch beside a glass door is easy to slip on.
Door fittings need a small amount of the right grease in the right spot, not a wet spray over the whole hinge. Part of our visit is cleaning off old oil, because grease will not hold on an oiled surface.
What the visit involves
We swing the door slowly, then fast, and listen. We try it opened wide and just ajar. The pattern of the sound tells us which part it is.
The noisy fitting is cleaned out and greased with the right grease for its type. Loose fixings are tightened. If the door has dropped and is touching something, we set it back square.
Then we swing the door many more times, because a door that is quiet once proves nothing. If a bearing inside a floor spring or hinge has worn out, grease will only quieten it for a while. We tell you that, and price the part separately. Many squeaks are fixed without any part at all.
The cost, and what grease cannot fix
The visit is ₹1,350. One squeaking door takes much less time than a full visit, so several doors can share one.
Grease cannot make a failing part last for ever. A floor spring with a worn bearing can run quietly for months after cleaning, then start again. When we find that, we tell you and give you the price of the part. You can enjoy the quiet months and change the part later, which is a perfectly good choice.
You should never pay for new parts when cleaning and grease in the right place would have fixed the noise.
