Houses here usually have three or four bathrooms, and they tend to get done together or in a planned sequence. That changes the conversation from one enclosure to a set, where consistency of glass, hardware and finish across the house matters as much as any single room.
Matching hardware across four bathrooms
Hardware finishes look similar in a catalogue and clearly different on a wall. Chrome, satin and brushed nickel are three distinct things, and stainless varies between makers.\n\nIf bathrooms are done a year apart, matching later is largely luck - ranges change and finishes are discontinued.\n\nSo where a house is being done over time, we recommend buying the hardware for all of it at the start even if the fitting is staged. It is the one part of the job that is genuinely difficult to correct afterwards.
Low-iron glass, and when it is worth it
Ordinary clear glass has a faint green cast, which comes from the iron in it. You see it looking through the edge of a panel.\n\nAgainst white or pale marble that green is visible and, once noticed, hard to stop noticing. Low-iron glass removes it and costs more.\n\nAgainst dark or patterned tiling it makes very little difference and is not worth paying for. So the answer depends on the tiling rather than the budget, and we will say which of your bathrooms would actually show it.
Frameless needs a square room, and these usually are
Frameless glass is cut square and relies on the walls being square, which is exactly what it cannot correct.\n\nHouses of this standard are generally built well enough that frameless works, but finish quality varies between floors and between rooms.\n\nSo we level all three walls in each bathroom separately rather than assuming the house is consistent. Occasionally one room out of four needs a slim frame, and it is better to know that at the quote than to find it when the glass arrives.
