Bathrooms in Ulsoor are old. So we are nearly always replacing something, not fitting the first enclosure. That changes the talk before anyone mentions style or price. It helps to know if the whole thing must go, or if a hinge and a seal will do. We would rather tell you that from a photo than from your hallway.
The three things that fail, in order
It is the same three every time. The frame rusts. The seals go hard and crack. And the silicone lets go behind the tiles.
If all three have gone, that is what twenty years looks like. Then a new enclosure is the right answer. Fixing one of them buys a few months, and you pay for the visit twice.
If the glass is fine and only the hinges, seals or handle have gone, that is a real repair. It costs much less than a new enclosure, and we will say so. Send a photo of the door edge and the bottom track. That usually settles it before anyone travels.
Walls that have moved, and what fits them
In a building this age the walls lean a little and the opening is usually wider at one end. Frameless glass has almost no room to take that up, so a gap shows down the edge. The door may need packing to close properly.
A slim aluminium frame hides most of it inside its channel.
If the bathroom was just fully re-tiled, frameless looks better again and is easier to keep clean. We check with a level at the measuring visit, not over the phone. A wall that looks straight and a wall that is straight are two different things.
Working in a flat above a shop
A lot of these bathrooms sit above a business that cannot be disturbed. They are reached by a stair that turns twice.
So we cover the floors and sheet off the work area, so dust does not travel. The old enclosure leaves with us the same day. It does not sit on the landing.
One bathroom is half a day to a day. Then allow about a day for the silicone to set before you use the shower. If it is your only bathroom, tell us. We will fit in the morning so the setting time falls overnight.

- We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.
