Most homes here were built plot by plot and finished to a budget, and the bathrooms are small. That is not a problem to solve with expensive glass. It is a problem solved with the right layout, and most of what we do here is making a modest budget produce something that genuinely works.
The cheapest thing that actually improves the bathroom
In a small bathroom the complaint is almost always that water goes everywhere, not that there is no shower cubicle.\n\nA single fixed panel, with no door and no track, solves that for a fraction of the cost of a full enclosure.\n\nIt has nothing to wear out, needs no hardware beyond two brackets, and it is the thing we recommend most often in this area. We would rather fit that well than a full enclosure cheaply, because a cheap enclosure fails at the hardware within two years.
Where to spend if there is a little more
If the budget stretches past a fixed panel, the next thing worth buying is not more glass — it is a better fixing and a proper base seal.\n\nThose two decide whether the installation lasts, and they cost very little.\n\nAfter that comes a door. We put it in that order deliberately, because people usually start with the door and end up with a nice-looking enclosure that is badly fixed. The order matters more than the total.
Fixing into walls that were built quickly
Self-built houses here vary a great deal in construction, and some internal walls are thin or hollow.\n\nA glass panel is heavy, and a fixing that only grips plaster will come out with the panel attached.\n\nSo we test-drill before quoting rather than after. Where a wall will not take the load we design so the weight goes into a wall that will, or we fit a floor-supported frame. It is not an upsell, it is the difference between the enclosure staying up and not.

- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
