Flats here are handed over with the bathroom tiled and plumbed but nothing marking off the shower. So the enclosure is the last piece and the first real decision the owner makes about the room. It is worth taking a little time over, because everything afterwards is arranged around it.
Deciding the layout while the flat is empty
In an unfurnished flat the enclosure position is genuinely open, and that freedom closes as soon as the bathroom is in daily use.\n\nWhat matters is the door swing, whether you walk past wet glass to reach the basin, and whether the towel ends up inside the splash line.\n\nSo we tape the footprint on the floor and ask you to walk it before anything is ordered. People change their mind at that point more often than not, and at that moment it costs nothing.
Fitting before the furniture arrives
An empty flat is much the easiest place to fit an enclosure: clear access, nothing to protect and room to handle a panel safely.\n\nOnce furniture is in, the same job takes longer and the risk shifts from the glass to your belongings.\n\nSo where the flat is still empty this is the moment, and it is worth arranging before a move-in date rather than after. It is also the only point at which the layout can still genuinely be reconsidered.
Checking the handover before covering it up
Once glass is fixed to a wall, whatever is behind it becomes difficult to reach and difficult to argue about.\n\nSo this is the moment to check that the floor falls to the drain, that no tile sounds hollow, and that the wall is straight where the glass will land.\n\nAll three are handover items and far easier to put to a builder before something has been fitted over them. We check them as part of the survey and tell you what we find, whichever way it goes.
