This is the framed version of a corner shower enclosure. Two glass sides wrap the shower and meet at an aluminium corner post, with a hinged door in the front panel. The frame gives it a clear black edge, and it handles walls that are not perfectly straight. So it is a good choice in an older bathroom.

When a corner enclosure is the right shape

When the shower sits in a corner and two of its sides are open to the room, instead of running along a single full wall.

Most larger Bengaluru bathrooms are laid out this way. So are many flats where the shower is a marked-off zone with a tray or a stepped floor.

The framed version suits older bathrooms in particular. Where the walls or the corner have moved over the years, the frame takes that up in a way frameless glass cannot.

It is also the more forgiving option if the bathroom is being refreshed rather than fully re-tiled. The frame gives a clean edge against tiling that may not be perfectly even.

What the enclosure is built from

Slim aluminium sections, powder coated in matte black, running at the walls, the floor and up the corner.

The two glass sides are toughened, which is safety glass. The frame holds their edges, so they can usually be thinner than a frameless enclosure needs.

The corner post is what makes this different from the frameless L-shape. It joins the two panels and makes the enclosure stiff. You can see the post, so it is worth knowing that before you order. If you want a corner with no post at all, look at the frameless L-shape instead.

The door is hinged in the front panel and opens outward, with black hinges and handle. A water seal runs along the door edge, and silicone seals both walls and the floor line.

How the enclosure is fitted

Send photos of both open sides and rough sizes. We usually come back the same day with a range.

We measure once your tiling is finished. We check both wall angles, the corner, the slope of the floor towards the drain, and how the glass will reach the bathroom.

You get a written price with the glass, the frame, the fittings and the labour on their own lines. An advance covers the materials, and making it takes about a week.

Fitting is a single day. The frame goes up and is levelled first, because everything else depends on it being straight. Then the glass, then the door, then the sealing. Wait about a day before using the shower.

Why two enclosures at the same rate cost different amounts

Because the rate is per square foot of glass, and two enclosures of the same shape can carry very different amounts of glass and frame.

A taller enclosure has more glass. Two unequal sides have more frame per square foot than two equal ones. And a bathroom with an out-of-square corner needs more careful setting out, which takes longer on site.

The finish matters too. Matte black is our stock colour and adds nothing. A special colour adds cost and a few days for the coating.

The written price shows each of these on its own line. So you can see exactly which part of your enclosure is driving the number.

What customers say

4.7from 6 reviews of this work

  • Anasuya KrishnamachariMalleshwaram, Bengaluru★★★★★

Corner enclosure in matte black. The frame gives it a very sharp look, and it suits the bathroom far better than frameless would have.

  • Zorawar BakshiJP Nagar, Bengaluru★★★★

Well built and well fitted. They were clear that you would see the corner post, which I was glad to know beforehand.

  • Meghna ThondamanBanaswadi, Bengaluru★★★★★

Our two sides are quite different lengths, and it was no trouble at all. Neat frame lines and a very tidy finish.

  • Farokh BatliwalaKoramangala, Bengaluru★★★★★

One year in, with no leaks and no marks on the coating. The door still closes onto the seal just as it should.

  • Vidyut RajwadeBanashankari, Bengaluru★★★★

Solid work. It took a few days longer to make than they first said, but they told us in advance instead of leaving us to wonder.

  • Sharvari DeshmaneBommanahalli, Bengaluru★★★★★

Our bathroom is old and nothing in it is square. The frame took up all of that, and you would never know from looking at it.

Common questions

Roughly what budget should I keep for a corner enclosure?

It starts at ₹850 per sq ft of glass. Corner enclosures usually sit at the upper end, because two sides carry more glass and more frame than a single straight run. Measure each open side, multiply by the height, and add them together to get your glass area. Send us those numbers for a range.

We have guests coming next month. Can it be done before then?

Easily, if your tiling is finished. Allow about a week to make the frame and glass after you agree the price, plus a day to fit and a day for the silicone to set. Tell us your date at the enquiry stage, and we will say honestly whether it works, rather than agree and then move it.

Do the two glass sides have to be the same length?

No. Unequal sides are completely normal, and most corner showers are not square. We measure each side on its own and make the panels to suit. Do note that a very short return panel can cost more per square foot, because it still needs its own frame and corner joint.

Do both walls need to be tiled before you install?

Yes. The enclosure is made to the finished tile face, not to the wall behind it. So both walls need to be fully tiled before we measure, not just before we fit. Measuring an untiled wall risks an enclosure that does not fit and has to be made again.

What does the warranty cover on this enclosure?

Our own fitting work is covered by our warranty, and that includes the sealing we do. The frame, hinges, handle and seals are covered by the maker's warranty. If the enclosure leaks because of how we sealed it, we come back and put it right. Damage from a knock, or from using rough cleaners on the finish, is not covered.
