What we send so a decision can be made remotely
From the survey we send photographs of each wall, the corner, the floor fall and the route in, plus the measurements and the footprint marked on the floor.\n\nThat is enough for somebody who has never stood in the room to understand the options.\n\nWe also send the two or three real choices rather than a single recommendation, with what each costs and what each gives up. A remote decision made on one option and one price is not really a decision, and it is where these jobs go wrong.
Agreeing what happens if something is found
The risk in remote work is discovering something mid-job that needs a decision — soft plaster behind a tile, a floor that does not drain, a wall that will not hold a fixing.\n\nWith the owner present that is a two-minute conversation; at a distance it stops the job.\n\nSo we agree in advance what we should do in those situations and up to what value, and we photograph anything we find before proceeding. It means work continues rather than waiting for a reply across a time difference.
Handing over to somebody who was not there
When the work is finished the person who sees it first is usually a tenant or a caretaker rather than the owner.\n\nSo we photograph the finished work from the same angles as the survey, run the shower and photograph the base and door line dry afterwards.\n\nThat gives the owner something to check against rather than a message saying it is done. It takes five minutes and it is the difference between a remote job that is genuinely complete and one that is only reported as complete.
How the job works

- We call you back in about 2 minutesWe confirm what you need and a time to visit. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening and check the walls, floor and ceiling around it. Anything made to size is made to these measurements, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt lists each item, with GST as its own line. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
