Bathrooms in Jayanagar are old, so we are nearly always replacing something, not fitting the first enclosure. That changes the talk. Before anyone talks about style or price, it helps to know if the whole thing needs replacing, or if a new hinge and seal will do. We would rather tell you that from a photo than from your hallway.
What has usually failed
The same three things, in the same order. The frame rusts. The seals go hard. And the silicone lets go behind the tiles.
If all three have gone, that is what twenty years looks like, and replacing the enclosure is the right answer. Fixing one lasts only a few months.
If the glass is fine and only the hinges, seals or handle have gone, that is a real repair for much less money. Send a photo of the door edge and the bottom track, and we will tell you which one you have before anyone travels.
Walls that have moved, and what fits them
In a house this age the walls have moved. Frameless glass (glass with no metal frame) has almost no room to take up that gap, so a gap shows down the edge and the door may need packing to shut properly.
A slim aluminium frame takes it up inside its channel and hides a lot.
If the bathroom has just been fully re-tiled, frameless looks better again and is easier to keep clean. We check with a level at the visit instead of deciding in advance.
Working in a house people live in
We cover the floors and sheet off the work area, so dust does not travel through the house. We take the old enclosure away with us the same day. We do not leave it on the landing.
A single bathroom takes half a day to a day. Then wait about a day for the silicone to set before you use the shower.
If it is your only bathroom, tell us and we will fit in the morning, so the silicone sets overnight. Almost nothing here has a lift, so we also measure the turn in the staircase on the same visit as the bathroom.
How the job works
- Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
- We call you backUsually the same day. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call. Then you know if a visit is worth your time.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening. We also check the walls, floor, ceiling and the way in. Your glass is made to these final sizes, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt shows the glass, the fittings and the fitting work as separate lines. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.
